Hevad Khan's AIM might be hacked

not sure where i should post this, but i believe that his aim is hacked and i have been scammed for 500 bucks.

he asked me to send money to one of his horses for a plane ticket last night. i was busy and didn't think twice about it and did it for him. today he asked me again and then i got suspicious. i asked him for the names of some people that he staked and he could not provide it. i proceeded to tell him to go **** himself.

anyway be careful. not 100% confirmed yet because hevad's phone seems to be off and i haven't spoken to him about this yet.

Just for future reference, the most common scam is some high stakes guy IMing you to send money to a buddy (or horse or student or whatever). This is pretty much always gonna be a scam.

Re: Hevad Khan's AIM might be hacked

he said he needed it through western union and his card didn't work. which makes sense because one of my cards didn't work on the site. obv if i shipped to his ps acct he could just send it back. he's a good friend and i was focused on the tournament where "i got you to 4bet me with k9" so i didn't even think twice about it.

anyway gg last night.

Oh. Also, western union is pretty much always a scam. I've done hundreds of transfers, and never had one legitimate person ask me for western union.

Re: Hevad Khan's AIM might be hacked

I just got him asking me for money over AIM via western union.

I asked him to give me a call to verify and obviously he couldn't. He then got pretty hostile so it is definitely a hack.

Re: Hevad Khan's AIM might be hacked

Hey guys. My AIM was indeed hacked yesterday, so I urge anyone who has me on their AIM buddy list to block+delete that account. Normally I'm way more on edge with these kinds of things but i woke up sluggish that morning and was caught off guard. He requested my phone # since he had gotten a new one and from that info alone along with my yahoo email he was able to reset my aim password and jack it from me. Ron i'm sorry you got scammed for $500 and i'm also sorry to davidp18 who was also scammed for $600. Also, the scammer was previously using the AIM id: cviggity(something) which was Chris Vaughn's AIM id. (SlippyJacks on PokerStars). Any extra info about this would be appreciated, and again sorry to all affected by it.

Re: Hevad Khan's AIM might be hacked

just a warning, he's still at it. he took me for $500 because he knew my first name and I was busy doing 14 other things before double checking here.

hopefully it gets reversed since I got to it w/in half an hour, but I feel pretty dumb lol

meh it's the first time I've fallen for it in several tries over the years but yeah it's pretty dumb. all I can say is social engineering's way more likely to work if you're distracted.
