Re: Grinding out large donkaments.

Just reg anything you have 100 buyins of. (GO CRAZY ON SUNDAYS AND WIN SOMETHING HUGE). Grind out the smaller buyins as much as u can and play 180s.

And obv drop down if needed.

If you're having thousand buyin downswings then clearly you are the dolt sir. Keep donating though we appreciate people like You keeping the poker economy healthy. Lol at you coming in a poker message board calling me a dolt for not needing a thousand buyins to play profitably. So ironic

Sorry but you are kind of a moron. Why would you need 1000 buyins to play profitably? You think people play unprofitably with 500 buyins?

I men you can modify it, but it stills far from useful if you are making varied bets.

There are models that probably are based slightly off Kelly criteria but look nothing like the simple wiki you linked.
Well, you can make the criterion into a function of average buy in/field size/return on investment/variance and come up with cut off points for moving up and down in abi. The actual criterion is too simple to apply directly to MTTs, but can easily be adjusted to comply with the various factors involved.

Or you can just ball it out and move up and down when you fell you're nearing the danger zone like certain other ballers.

I recently had a 1000 abi downswing, i've had a couple 300-500 abi downswings. Hell, im down 400 abi's over my last 4k games. I only run a 30 abi, i play around 3 109's a day and 3 200's on sundays, the rest of what i play is the best value 10-75$ games on ps (with some party mixed in). The amount of varinace in mtt's has gone up exponentially as people's edges have dropped. When the best regs run only 40-70% roi's, you are going to have some pretty sick swings.

And how exactly do you go about this for all us lazy mathtards?

Re: Grinding out large donkaments.

of course 1000buyins downswing is pretty hard but as you go downer and downer on your swing it will eventually affect your game and put more pressure on you that will make you make mistakes deep in tournaments where it's very important.

also taking sunday shots at all those juicy +EV 5,6 figs won't make it easier do end a downswing.

I'm sorry, we should definitely let someone called Joey Rules All to tell us what to do. Keep grinding your Daily dollar tournaments son.

It's not about your downswing. I was questioning Joey's claim about people with 1000 buyins playing profitably, while implying everyone else plays unprofitably. So if you drop under 1000 buyins all of a sudden you forget how to play the game.

Re: Grinding out large donkaments.

If you don't buy-into a tourney with more 2x your avg. buy-in I'd feel comfortable with a 50 BI role. However, if your avg. BI is $22 and you are playing $109 and $200 tourneys you need to rethink this number. Also if you get down to 25BI you need to move down a level or two.

This is coming from a bankroll NIT who has never grown broke.
