Reasons why the servers were going down today...Basically you just get placed in a pool against anyone else in who signs up and you get to play hand after hand.

I wonder if they have rush tournaments in mind, would be intersting to try.

Surprisingly not terrible for a new concept.

But constantly changing table dynamics make this difficult if it ever runs at higher limits.

Why would the rake come faster? From Full Tilts end they still have to wait for everyone to act on table before collecting rake. Only from your perspective are things faster. As far as game flow, HUD, history, well your opponents won't have those things either, so it cancels out.
