Re: EPT Berlin - March 2-7, 2010 (€1 million guaranteed first prize)

cause stars gets them for cheaper, would be pretty absurd if they inflated price past what a single person would pay for it...

I think I checked for ept kiev and that was the case but I could be wrong

I assume DJK's talking about booking the Ritz through EPT Hotels, which is run by Stars.

Edit: Total guesswork here, but I assume Stars is putting sat qualifiers and DBIers up in multiple hotels. The hotel rate for the sats and DBI, which is constant, is probably some sort of weighted average of the prices of the various hotels. So if you DBI and get stuck in the crappiest hotel, you ended up paying more than you should have (which is what happened to me at PCA). At least if you book with EPT Hotels you know what you're getting and don't run the risk of paying more than you should have.

Actually in New Zealand the hotel was cheaper when booked through hotels.com than the rate Stars got.

unless you have specific information about berlin, pretty sure you're wrong todd. the DBI is the same price as the package is worth and has always been the same hotel as the package

Americans might be better off waiting to buy-in and book hotels, by the time this event starts 1 dollar is probably going to be worth more than 1 euro.

Re: EPT Berlin - March 2-7, 2010 (€1 million guaranteed first prize)

Hi All,

Funki / Todd - You can DBI for either the full package OR "seat-only" through Registrations@pokerstars.com up until a couple of days before the start of the event. We don't have an actual turn off date for online reg yet as we always wait to see how the numbers develop. We have only one hotel for our players for this event and it is The Ritz.

Todd - You can pick your start date when you email reg. As for the the race with info@epthotels.com, I cramped up and pulled a hammy....I blame poor pre-race stretching They should get back to you quickly with the info you asked about.

DJK - We are expecting the largest field of the season so far for Berlin (730 London, 768 Deauville, PCA exempted ) at close to 1,000 players ! It will make it the 3rd largest field when we are done behind San Remo and Monaco.

Cheers All,

Neil

Re: EPT Berlin - March 2-7, 2010 (€1 million guaranteed first prize)

registrations@pokerstars.com told me that i could only buyin with T€ (not cash) and would also have to wear pokerstars gear throughout the tournament if i bought in directly through stars.
Is this std?

Re: EPT Berlin - March 2-7, 2010 (€1 million guaranteed first prize)

Hi All,

My apologies...The Grand Hyatt is the PokerStars Hotel since that is where the event is taking place. My email was misunderstood when I sent it for info. All package winners will be staying at the Grand Hyatt.

Sorry for the confusion,

Neil

Re: EPT Berlin - March 2-7, 2010 (€1 million guaranteed first prize)

Exameter -

It is standard...from out T&C page on...http://www.pokerstars.com/ept/terms/

6. All players who qualify through non-cash Satellites on the Site (including Frequent Player Point satellite tournaments, Tournament Leader Board) or that have bought in with T-Money or FPPs:
a. into a Main Event - are required to wear PokerStars branded clothing exclusively throughout the Main Event; or
b. into a Side Event - will be required to wear the PokerStars logo or branded clothing exclusively throughout the Side Event if Euro Poker informs such player that it wishes the player to do so and provides the player with the logo or branded clothing as the case may be.

Cheers,

Blargh

Neil,

Why do they insist on only taking T$ and not plain PokerStars $? It's pretty difficult to gather enough T$ these days.
