ok so i have drank these on and off for awhile now, i was introduced by a close friend of mine who picked up the recipe in prison. they would literally play cards for 60 hours at a time during weekends when they didnt have to work hopped up on what they called Bombays (no this is not the Gin drink), instead it is a clever mix of dr. pepper and coffee that gets you so wired that it's ridiculous. i have been awake for 40 straight hours off a single Bombay, including 2 sessions of mass tabling, a midterm, and we have a weekly hearts game tonight. so ill easily be up for 2 days on this stuff. it's a lot of caffeine so use with caution, i have been kind enough to take photos of me making onw and i will detail the process for you
Step 1: Gather your ingredients
Instant Coffee, it has to be instant, it can not be ground coffee. Brand doesn't matter. A Bombay is almost like a Turkish coffee with a Dr. Pepper base
Dr. Pepper, I didn't get it in the bottle because I live literally behind a Subway, it's a 30second walk, and I go there so often they give me free fountain drinks
Ice Cubes, these are essential to get the proper consistency. Cubes work better than crushed
Step 2: Compile the Ingredients
Add spoonfuls of coffee to an empty cup, do this based on how strong you would like your drink to be. I'd always go with at least 2, but never more than 5. Mess around and see what you like most.
Next, add Dr. Pepper to the coffee in the cup and let it dissolve, it will turn into a foam like substance. You will notice because the cup will weigh significantly less than a normal cup full of liquid would, that's because at this point its not really a liquid
Here you can see the weird consistency in greater detail
Finallly, add some ice cubes and stir around for a few seconds and it will turn back into a drinkable liquid. Don't expect it to taste like candy, remember you are drinking instant coffee, but it's not bad, especially if you are already a coffee drinker, plus Dr. Pepper is awesome enough to make anything taste ok.
Voila! There you have it
After the fizz dies down and settles it will look like this:
You will not be drinking any coffee grinds, it all perfectly dissolves into the Dr. Pepper. Let me know if you have any questions, and I will forward them to the resident expert. Bombays are basically the ****, whenever we have home games all of the degenerates drink these and by 11am the next morning we're playing 6card omaha with middle card on the flop wild. Great for poker!!
