Hello guys, I posted on this sub-forum because i didn't know what else would be appropriate and this is one of the most commented ones.Any mod feel free to move the thread elsewhere.

So I moved to Prague approximately 9 months ago to play online poker, specifically MTTs ,since my own country is dealing with online poker regulations and it's practice is currently forbidden.

It came to light on a national poker news website that the governement is planning of regulating Online poker. But i saw some very strange laws.

I am asking anybody who is more well informed if you can point me to some articles about it, and how is the process going.

I saw some weird laws like the maximum bet you can make on a table is 37€ and the max you can win is like 1800€ per day.

I would like someone to help me with this subject because my czech isn't that good and having some information of when the law is going to be put in practice, and if it is still in an embryonary state for example, because in a matter of months it can take new turns.

So if somebody could give me some insight as to what is happening regarding the regulation i would be very grateful.

Dekujeme vam.

So maybe it was a case of mistranslation. Thanks anyway for providing some info to me.

Dan
Tennessee, United States Online gambling news coming from the Czech Republic. According to eGaming Review, "Czech politicians have overwhelmingly backed a new gambling bill, opening the country’s doors to foreign competition for the first time... The country’s president Miloš Zeman now has 30 days to sign-off the new law and in turn kick-off the licensing process, with the liberalised regime expected to go live in January 2017. At present, only operators based within the country’s borders and those operating land-based businesses can offer online gambling products, which has so far limited the market to just five licensees and judged to have breached EU competition law. However, the new law will open the market up to those situated within the European Union or European Economic Area, which includes those based in Gibraltar."

So are u saying that the news on pokernews are wrong when they quote OPA?

" The situation is even more unattractive to online poker operators and its Czech customers. According to Online Poker Report, online poker bets can't exceed 1,000 Czech Koruna ($40.98), and winnings in any specific game or tournament are capped out at 50,000 Czech Koruna ($2,049).

While shared liquidity with international gaming pools will be allowed, gaming operators would be required to restrict games that exceed these limits."

How accurate is your information that the poker will not be affected?
