Crosspost - Question about multiple day 1s Crosspost - Question about multiple day 1s

I posted this thread in Midstakes MTT, but got 0 replies in nearly a week, so I thought I might get more responses here:

There's a tournament series coming up at my local casino with multiple day 1s for the events. I've looked back at past years' turnouts for the $210 and as you'd expect the numbers vary quite a bit from flight to flight:

1A on a Wednesday afternoon might get 50-75 runners while 1F on a Saturday afternoon may get 225+.

These events play down to 10% of the field on all the day 1s, and if you make it through you're in the money on day 2. I think there are pros and cons to both larger and smaller day one fields, and 10% is 10%... Can anyone speak to advantages and disadvantages of these types of tourneys?

I'm inclined to think it's probably easier to accumulate chips on the larger field days b/c there's just more of them in play, but in terms of advancing to day 2, I don't see a whole lot of difference. Anyone else have thoughts???

Smaller field for less variance. To survive 60 ppl is easier then to survive 200 But I would expect for the field on Saturday to be easier

Guess if you're good at playing short handed there's added value to playing a day with a small field.
