***I tried doing a search and did not find what I was looking for. Thus, I apologize if this has already been discussed and I just missed the thread***

I am putting new fabric on an old table.

I am using BBO Poker to create a custom playing surface. I am getting paralysis from analysis.

My initial thought process was was deep red for the racetrack area and black for the card/betting area.

I was then concerned that if having a 6 to 8 hour game going the red and black would start to wear on the eyes. Thus, I was then thinking of a light green for card/betting area and light blue for the racetrack.

I am curious what Tournament Players prefer when you are playing all day or a multi-day event.

Cash player here. Green & blue together are a poor combo IMO - inelegant

[1] Obviously you use suited speed cloth for ease of play, easy to clean & the pattern hides stains/damage
[2] Very dark play area
[3] A lighter race track, but not too light
Two different shades of the same colour would be my preference
For example a very dark slate grey with a medium dark grey racetrack - I wouldn't want a table with 'busy' colours

Whatever you choose your spouse or partner will not like it, but s/he'll maybe say nothing for three years before mentioning how horrible it is. This is a law of the universe - same as gravity.
