Enquiring about the legitmicacy of who the busybody in the suit is seems standard, we all know the french can only win by cheating and that when it comes to the crunch the easily fold or chicken out, Afghnaistan/Iraq, WW2, WW1, Waterloo, Traflgar etc......... spineless ever last one of them.

I'd very much like for a representative of the Partouche Poker Tour to come in here and offer an explanation of what occurred along with either a justification of the ruling that was made or a sincere apology for a mistaken ruling having been made. The fact that they haven't done so already is troubling.

someone who was on my flight today approached me and told me that he read my post and had an experience in the cashgame a couple of nights ago that he wanted to share. First was in a hand where he got it AI on the turn covering his opponent, the dealer just immediately mashed their stacks together without counting them (and obv raked the whole thing) and the other was that the he was dealt three card in one hand, when he made the dealer aware he was told it wasnt a misdeal and he should play the hand through.

Do you know if he tried to correct this?

This seems quite similar to the Raf Poker Tour. Especially getting dealt 3 cards and continuing play. I can only dream of the day we have floormen who speak a completely different language on the RPT.

Our floormen were not very versed in English either.

I think the point is that he was duped into believing that he was traveling to France to participate in a $1M guaranteed tournament when in reality, the tournament only generated a $150k prizepool, a seemingly foreseeable disparity that shoud have prevented the tournament from ever having been advertised as having an expected prizepool of $1M.

there's malice and there's being incompetent to the point that you don't know 2p2/the internet exists. i'm gonna go with the latter on this one.

They've had reps posting and answering Qs in the other thread. Otherwise I obviously wouldn't have posted that.

Even the French know internet exists ... But on a serious nite, PPT people know about 2+2, and they are even aware of this thread

Just found this thread after listening to the pokercast and after spending the last half hour reading this thread, I can't stop shaking my head and thinking how gross this whole incident is. Truly disgusting and dispicable.

This reminds me of a time I was visiting Paris with my family (5 of us total). It was dinner time, we were at the bottom of the stairs/hill of the Sacre Coeur and we were starving. We've been here before so we know there's lots of places to eat at the top but we were just too hungry so decided to eat at a medium sized cafe at the bottom. There weren't any other customers inside (surprising since it was the middle of summer and hundreds of tourists walking around 2 feet outside) but we decided to give them some business. [Aside: The food was okay except one of us ordered a savory crepe that was obviously not made fresh (it came out literally 30 seconds after ordering so it was obvious that they just reheated leftovers) however they gave us a new one after complaining which we thought was pretty nice of them at the time.]
Anyways, the incident occured when they asked us what we would like to drink. We all decide to just order regular ice water (which is free anywhere else in the world I've been to). The waiter wants to clarify "so you don't want bottled water?" to which we reply "no, just plain water from the tap". Now we're experienced travellers and know that one of the tourist traps is to get them to buy overpriced bottled water, but we weren't going to be fooled, or so we thought... The waters come, and just like we asked, plain water in a glass with a couple of ice cubes, and even a slice of lemon ("wow, fancy" we thought). Nothing suspicious so far, it definitely tastes like tap water (which by the way isn't very good in Paris).... After the meal the server comes to clear our plates and we ask for the bill. That's the last time we see him. For 15 minutes we sit and wait and nobody shows up. "Okay, this one's on me, I'll go up there and pay while you guys start heading towards the Sacre Coeur," I say. So my family members all go outside while I go up to the counter to settle the bill. The total comes to 60 something euros which I didn't think was unreasonable at the time. I just wanted to pay and get out of there, so I hand the guy a hundred, get my change and then look at the bill. That's when I see, 5 x 5.90€ Soda = 29.50€
Obviously I complain. "We just wanted FREE tap water". First the guy just keeps repeating "that's what you ordered, that's what you ordered!" (I guess the lemon did it.) Then when I don't back down he starts speaking in French which I don't understand. Now there's no one to back me up since my family is already halfway towards the church, and the guy already has my money. So I knew this was a losing battle, plus I just wanted to get the heck outta there so I gave up and was basically tilted the rest of the day. This one experience pretty much ruined the entire trip, not because of the amount of money, but just that they would sink so low in their scams.
Sorry about the wall of text, somehow it ended up about 5x longer than I expected.

I forgot about this:

During about the 5th hand of my first cash game session I noticed one of cards was marked (they had cards with a plain white back). After the hand was over I pointed out that the card was marked, a floor was called over and he took the card. I then started stacking my chips and the next hand was dealt. After this hand was over the floor comes back and gives us a new Qs (or actually Ds). The dealer puts the card with the others cards and continues his shuffle.

No one seemed at all surprised that we just played a hand with 51 cards in the deck. Guess the rake has to keep going
