15k-ish with an avg buy-in of $100-$150, whee. Part of it from not being as good as I thought I was after being on a massive heater and not studying/reviewing whatsoever, which I think is pretty common.

Hmm after further review and looking at my db a loooooot more of my downswing then I originally thought came from things that were not mtts .

What's a "downswing"?
I play Micro, I think 50 str8 non-cashes playing $1-$4

Most of that was helped by never really having a huge downswing at the $5 STTs though.

I don't really keep good records, or any for that matter, so I'm not really sure. but, from march 10th till april 28th i know i did not do very well at all... and i go through ~15k in buyins a week

um just db'ed myself. forgot i was playing a bit live and put in very low volume online. anyway from the above dates: -12k on ftp, -17.5k on stars, and like -6k between AP UB bodog and cake

so i guess i run good and havent had that bad of a downswing.... considering i just remembered i won a cake sat for like 8k , and on my last live trip of the season (san remo) i cashed 2 tournies for like 33k so.. meh i run good?

luckily i had a few upswings as well, and live results sometimes go opposite of online swings, but the life on an MTTer can be grim sometimes

I dont know exacts tbh someone better with db could prob figure out my online one live I'm down somewhere between 300 and 450 lifetime

just looked up my online ones, looks like over the past ~4 months, between stars and ftp i'm down about 64k over 523 tourneys with an average buyin around ~$275.

I've hit 20-30k a few times. To give you an idea of how ******ed 100r variance is/how much Pstars is rigged, I also hit a $40k downswing in Stars $100rs alone, despite having an average buy in under 500 and being a lifetime winner of over 100% ROI even after the downswing.

Including big buy ins like $5k freezeouts and $25k HU, I've probably done over $50k. I think KUSH and AaronBeen have also had downswings of $20-$30k multiple times, and Aaron much bigger. It's pretty standard, although not usually in a single tournament. I think the best next to my rebuy run was when Aaron went something like 79 Stars $150s without one cash

when you come back in the country, you fill out a form and checkboxes, and one of the boxes ask if you have more than $10,000 on you. I reported no, and was lying. Aftre getting my luggage and upon leaving they made me go in this special line, searched my **** hardcore, every nook and cranny, every pants pocket, etc, and eventually found my money dispersed in random amounts throughout my luggage. I managed to get 4k euro by them but thats it. so after like 2 months they got the forms to me, i filled out the petition to get my money back, havent heard yet, wish luck.

edit* tbh, i wouldve gotten out of it fine, they wouldnt have found the money etc, had I not had "drug paraphernalia" on me... i had an empty tube, rolling papers, an automatic roller, all of which are totally paraphernalia imo... but i did have a grinder on me with some residue in it, so, gg me. bc of this they searched me more and the 2nd guys that searched me saw the bulk of the $ and then questioned it. the funny part is though, they thought i was an iraqi drug muel, kept questioning me about iraqis, how many iraqi friends i have, how many i live with, etc.

Can we please make this a more positive thread.... does anyone ever measure upswings? or are they usually only marked by one large score? I want to start playing MORE tourney poker, this thread is really making me not want to play...
