B- on a behavioral sciences and pharmacology exam b/c played online.

Haven't had a huge upswing to have a huge downswing. I guess like 1K playing like a jackass -- (micro stakes donkaments and overplaying BR's)

Don't be ashamed to step down in limits. I stepped down to $3/18's to grind up without worrying too much about variance. Once I was back up over $350, I mixed in 3/45's and 6/18's. I stayed away from MTT's that were too big - stayed at $5 and less, no rebuys.

I also had a few smallish stakes from people - 100 12/180's was one. Broke even for the stake, but the first 50 games were part of my downswing, then I came back to break even, which helped the confidence.

I also ran good at a few small MTT's, including a couple FT's, which helped out.

Finally, I had a bit of money on FTP, so I played the $3 KO (90 player) tourneys, which are quite soft, as well as a few sats to win $26 tokens. I won a few tokens and then FT'd a $32k guaranteed for ~1.6k.

Hit for $8K. Cashed out $5K. Wife took most of that (the furniture in the babies room is nice though) . Lost the $3K I left online. Worked it back up to $2K. Lost that. got down to under $100. Worked it back to $2K. Lost that. Playing $4 180's again. Nothing like hitting and jumping from playing $10 tourneys to the nightly hundred grand. Gonna throw up if I think too long.

given that you guys all play different buy ins, these numbers seem completely irrelevant. What is the most BUY IN downswing you guys have ever had? I mean I've had 100k MTT downswings easy... thats what is going to happen when you play 10 10k MTTs and dont cash any, but who cares thats a meaningless number.

$10,000 and counting.. I've been playing since 03 and this is by far my worst downswing.

This, but it is also kinda difficult given many MTT players will play anything from the 3r up to the 100r. But i would say my biggest down swing is something like 40 buy-ins at the $20-$50 level.

~32k with an avg. buy in of $120. Ended just a few days ago.

For those of you who said 6 figures for online MTTs, what was your average buyin?

My worst was around 40k. Avg buyin probably $250.

WOW if most of these were at the lower end of ur buy in range. However, if this downswing consisted on mainly of 1k events and 100 rebuys then pretty standard i guess as only 40 buy in stretch.

And yeh, agree with the guy who said put ur loses in context, to elaborate on my previous post:

40 ootm tournaments @ an average of 110 each for $4400. This was snapped by a decent score so it was all good! hehe.

My 3 week in full time mtt's so far i have won 2 weeks and lost 1 week.

I am in for around $13k (max- if i play my full shcedule) per week (in about 90 mtt's) so i would have to have a 0 for 90 week to do any real damage

Since May about 6K. Playing mostly $20-$100. (I don't grind as much as most of the folks on this board)

i think I just had mine at like 20k. I don't play 100r or 1k's but all ftp 24-163. Cashed for 18k tonight so **** that downswing....next
