Bingo. Sorry if I was unclear. If you have a 500+ ABI "downswing" at low or even mid stakes then you need to take a critical look at your game. That is more than just variance.

And if you really DO think it's just a downswing, cut out larger fields before you cut out larger buyins. It's easier to gauge if you're still skilled enough to play this game for a living if your avg field size is 300 instead of 3,000.

even 1000 abi is reasonable downswing on stars at low and mid stakes

The ppl that have sick volume on stars can have it time to time. The ppl like u play low volume obv rare to have 500+ abi downswing

remember on stars is turbo heavy schedule, if u filter turbos out u might not
seeing 500+ abi downswings

And yeah also the field is bigger at low stakes.
How can u say there are leaks if u cant win the first 1000 games with 3000+ field by example.

Can u gtd u win one? with that field there is still variance going even with 1000 games trying

If u say, u can avoid having a big dowswing by game selecting i agree. But saying it cant be only variance its bs

Dont think 1k buyins should basically ever happen but I do think 500 abi downswings happen from time to time. Personally never went on one cuz i think there pretty easy to get around but to many regs are pretty bad at game selecting so think itll occur more often. Game selecting is like an art form that ppl are really bad at n never use. Start adding in $11 3k's 11q no guarantee etc and you'll take away from variance immensely.

Fair enough.

I guess my point is that it seems as if some people take pride in having had large downswings. Uh, no, it just means your true ROI is 5-10% at best

You guys are making me feel WAY better about myself. Most of the quoted "swings" would cause me to quit the game altogether. I just have to throw my $0.02 cents worth in here......if you're down 500 ABI's get a training site membership, because it's more than variance.
