yeah presentation is w/e, that looks redic good

Going to probably the best steak house I've ever been to tomorrow night with a few poker friends, my last (and first) experience was absolutely insane so it's going to be hard for it to compare.

hosting a family barbecue this sunday, any pro tips for a cooking novice? I know the basics but would really appreciate some slightly interesting ideas beyond the usual sausages and burgers, without it involving any advanced skills.

Buy something like ribs or a pork shoulder and look up a recipe. It will take 3-6 hours in the oven but you pretty much just stick it in there and let it do it's thing. Tastes delicious and looks like you put in a ton of work.

Last BBQ I had I made a homemade BBQ sauce around 10am (viniger, ketchup, worcester, mustard, onions, garlic, liquid smoke, brown sugar) and used half to start the chicken marinating and half to use for cooking the ribs. Put the ribs in the oven and the chicken marinating in the fridge and by midafternoon you are good to go!

bump... wanted to prep a complete meal before night before a long sunday grind. only took about 10 minutes of actual work just had to let the bird cook and the veggies steam and then mashed the potatoes and stirred in some reduced gravy from the bird(why the potatoes r kinda brown) and some green beans that were quickly steamed/blanched to retain some crispness. hopefully the nom noms help me ship something sick!

Made buffalo chicken mac and cheese last week. Google any recipe from food network/etc for what it is. Also added some green onions and cumin to the recipe for delicious, and boy was it. Also still got like a full 3-4 meals worth left after me and my roommates crushed it the night I made it

First time posting in this if thread so I'll start simple. About to make some eggs baked in bacon cupcakes with tomato, cilantro and cheddar.

If no one has ever tried it. You fry the bacon medium way (til browned but not crisp) then use it to simulate a cup in a cupcake tin. Pieces of bacon on the bottom and wrapped around. Then crack an egg directly into the bacon cup...top with topping and bake for 15 or so at 400. Great snacks that are good hot or cold!
