lol wtf 888 was like mediocre but fine for so long. is it really gonna go the way of party? still holding out hope but jeez. was trying to petition raidalot at a table the other day to start up a new site.
maybe im wrong but i feel like software should be one of the easier things to be equivalent in---catching stars when it has the first-mover advantage etc might be tough but it's like these sites aren't even trying to make gameplay at least somewhat similar quality
Guess it was just a coincidence that the games went down just before the bubble in the mega deep, leaving 888 with a $215 refund for the 15% of the field that remained
I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they're being hacked. But how the **** do you not start pausing the tournaments? I just had 3 tournaments were I came back to multiple people sitting out while a few lucky asses got to steal and steal and steal.
This was the last day I tolerate this. To answer the common question: I played there because I make money even with the disconnects.
Just got an e-mail that they've implemented the possibility to pause all tournaments during these crashes, at least they're trying I guess... Can't c/p mail as it's in german
Over the past few weeks, 888poker has experienced some serious technical issues due to problems with our internet service providers. These issues may have in turn caused a number of disconnections which may have resulted in severe disruptions to your games.
We would like to assure you that resolving these issues is our number one priority and we are working around the clock to ensure these interruptions come to an end. On top of major connectivity enhancements, in the coming days we will add a “pause tournament” feature that will enable us to temporarily pause tournaments whenever we notice high level of network disruptions. All tournament clocks will standstill during this pause – same as in the hourly break of the tournaments. We will resume the tournaments once the network returns to normal behavior.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and would like to give you a ticket to our $10,000 Thursday Champions Freerolls.
My name is Christian and I hope that I can help you today.
Benjamin, please accept my apology for the delay in replying.
I checked your account and I apologize for the difficulties you experienced, please be kindly advised that I have checked the tournaments and I can see that you had minor disconnections but I can also see that you have not lost any chips due to the disconnection, therefore unfortunately we can not refund the Buy-In.
Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
Benjamin, if you require any further assistance with this or any other matter, please feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
Christian L."
"I did not have "minor" disconnection issues, I had severe disconnection issues. Disconnecting once or twice during one tournament is minor. What do you mean "I have not lost chips?" That I wasn't involved in any hands during the disconnections? Because I certainly missed several blinds, hands where I payed antes, as well as timing out and being unable to play important large hands that I was dealt.
If your metric for refunding disconnection is "didn't time out mid-hand," then someone who was disconnected and unable to play a single hand for the entire tournament would not be refunded for the privilege of registering for a tournament and being immensely frustrated the whole day. Can you confirm that this is your policy?
Also, since you have the data to assert that I experienced only "minor" disconnection issues, may I please see it in raw form? I would love to parse it just to check against my own miserable playing experience.
