he chopped the million for like 130 er so, so we each got 65k. then, we started again and he chopped the million for like 190 er so, so we each got around 95. he had a few other chops as well. once we do a chop, it just starts over and has no effect on future play.

I mean i see ur points and that this is buisness for you and u dont give a sh** about his bills since they dont affect your buisness, but i think helping your horses in tough situations(even when not poker-related) builds a deep trust- and relationship. So i personal doubt that he would´ve stole the money from u when u would´ve helped him out earlier, i think it would probably motivate him even more to make u money cause u not just take take take u also give in some situations!

loans on make-up can kill a stable. who we do or dont loan to is all well thought out. we used to loan money to a ton of horses, but those loans usually never get repaid and we were losing a ton of money.

maybe he could just be a responsible adult and not blow through 175k in 1 years time so we wouldnt have to loan him?

However given the scale of Zima's stable and the amount of people he is staking/staked then if he started to become a bank for his horses as well, that goes outside of his responsibilities and creates a hassle for him and his partner. So while his horses gain some short term relief it also increases pressure/stress etc. on them which he is inclined to not want happen.

If 5-10 horses come forward for 2k on average each (I would imagine the average would actually be higher) then that's 10-20k minimum out on his head out of his pocket.

Of course he will help some people out from time to time but if it became a regular thing I think he leaves himself open to be exploited.

Elio and I are probably down 6 figures in "loans" that we will never see again. Gets pretty annoying once you start looking at it over the life of the stable.
