I can run a game properly if I had help. Last time just didnt have a ton of time and there was no game that week and they needed mods.
I basically got the game sign up and designed in a week notice.
I will plan this better and have more time plus have a mod run for me, so your point is moot.

Also my game was run with no mod error this time and tell me when was the last MM that didnt have mod **** ups?

Tips for first time modding:

Setup

This is all stuff you can do way before the game starts - do so, otherwise you'll be very frantic.

Get your spreadsheet going on Google Drive. Definitely use Google Drive - it has a memory, so if you do something wrong you can restore your sheet, even days later.

You should have a tab with Role PMs (or a separate Google Document, whichever you'd prefer), a tab with Night Actions, a tab for ITAs (if you're running any), a tab with a live player list and an Master Sheet tab. There are other tabs you can have that you may find you want, but those are core ones you definitely need.

Night Action Tab

Make it look something like this (this is what I had for my first MM). This is going to be your baby the entire game.



Note certain things:

The top line is order of actions, from left to right. Order of actions makes a difference, obviously. There isn't, afaik, a completely 100% standard way of doing it, but "anything that affects other peoples actions" going first and then everything else is really fine. Also maybe ask yourself what you would do if a RBer blocked a RBer, that sometimes trips up new mods.

The roles are listed in that order from the top to the bottom, so you work your way down. I yellow in everything that I've processed and orange anything that failed (a RBer RBing someone who had an action, or something). Colours may not be your thing, but whatever works.

Remind me once Anniversary is over to show you that NA spreadsheet because I set it up a different way and you may prefer that.

Master Sheet

When I say Master Sheet, I mean a sheet that at a quick glance tells you everything about the state of the day as it currently is.

So a live player list, with everyones affiliation and a one or two word description of their role ("roleblocker" "even seer" "JOAT", etc).

Then, at the top somewhere, anything that isn't a night action but has an effect. Double Voters, Vote Buyers, People who are Day Angeled, People with Extra Lives, People who can't be killed for X Y Z reason.

Then have another little bit for "roles that require a PM response to their night action". Most common are: Seers, Watchers, Trackers, Mechanic Seers. Just so you don't forget to send them, make sure you check them off every morning and delete when they're dead.

If you've got them set up before your game even fires, you'll be in good stead.

Also, I wouldn't shoot for more than 30-40 for your first game. In terms of actually getting the signups, and your own sanity

The timing of Harry Potter 6 has turned a bit complicated, because of RL issues

In some scenarios I will be able to run it in June, as previously scheduled. However if I get a new job before that, it will highly likely kill my ability to mod.
After I have finished spreading my CV like a raging cancer all over Spain, I might be able to run it earlier and require no more than very light co-modding, since I can do nothing all day but mod.

BTW if it is in June, I'd request the 2nd as starting day, so it does not overlap with the soccer world cup. I will be running a non-ww game off that too.

looks like we are low on possibilities. TL said she is done modding mish mashes now that anniversary has finished. Gabe is in flux and possibly indefinitely postponing HP6. I can't mod effectively from work and haven't seem GoT. Only person I could think of would be

I'd be interested in running it as an open-roleset (aka V+) game. I think big "mashy" games can work even better in many respects when the mechanics are known. You can also take ideas from people and incorporate all the best ones into the game.

Well named, you have plenty of time - it would run mid to late June. Problem is research of characters may spoil you from books.

I will never touch GoT theme. If I run a big game that isn't HP it will be MtG - GOAT theme for mishmashes imo
