I hope this is an ok place to put this. We have a Stanley Kubrick game starting next Tuesday at my main site www.packmentality.net. Click on message boards and then you have to sign up for an account and get approved by admin - just say u r there to play WW and that Turtle sent u. It will tell u to wait for an email but you can usually sign on before that. If u have any issues PM me here - in fact you may want to do that first so I can tell admin you are coming. The games at pack are usually majority/plurality lynch with no set SOD/EOD but the games still run fairly quick - it's not like mafiascum. Oh and you can cuss freely and with abandon. There is more emphasis on voting/running up players to claim status and deciphering if claims are true or bullsh*t. We also usually have some fun roles and game mechanics. Anyways once u get approved look for the sign-up list in the future games forum under General Category.

This is basically a fully contained pure WW site - we have our own wolf and other team boards if they may apply (e.g masons). We also have areas for discussion of politics and the sechs and sports and stuff.

So, I can't find the ww low content gripe thread so I'll post here.

I don't know how many people feel the same way but I'll just say what makes me decide to enter a game.

I like mishmashes a lot. But, I just don't have access to a computer most of the day. If night is at 8:00, chances are I'll have 45 minutes or less to read and post properly. Yes, I can occasionally phone post but it's not ideal. I kinda feel like later EODs would work a little better but I completely understand that this should be what is convenient for the mod. Also, not everyone is on the same timezone so I'm just speaking for myself.

I don't mind not being completely able to keep up and participate as much as others but it is discouraged by both the mods and players who can devote more time. I completely get that. But, at the same time, the player pool is reduced if only full-time players are acceptable.

I liked the dayfly roles that gabe created but that is the opposite extreme. You don't really get to participate all that much.

A great alternative for me are the C9++ (or whatever those are called). It mixes mishmash roles with a smaller player pool.

Anyway, I'm not griping. Just sayin' stuff.

I am not sure if I understand your gripe correctly.

If it is chiefly about 8PM EOD, I think there are only two moderators that do 8PM EODs: confirmedtroll and me.

The rest all do 9PM. What happened in Harry Potter was an unfortunate mix-up with DST. After discovering it, we decided to just run with it for several reasons, but our initial intention was to have a 9PM EST EOD.

No, it's not eod. I mean, that would help me personally but that's not really where I'm coming from. And, I'm not griping at all. I'm just saying that not everyone can be at a computer 24/7 and if low participation is discouraged, it will lessen the player pool. I would think it would be hard to fill 50 player games regularly with people that can devote a significant portion of their day to playing.

I am sympathetic to your problem.
I think, however, that a player that cannot dedicate at least 1h per day to the game will almost never have any positive impact on it. And that does not necessarily mean "1h of posting" -reading is as important as posting.

If my Dragon Age Mish-Mash will not fill -and it seems that indeed it won't- that would certainly suck both for the players that signed up for the game and for me, because designing these games takes time.

However, I prefer that a game of mine does not run than to see it filled by people that cannot even dedicate 1h per day to it. WW is a participation game.
Again, I understand and respect the fact that many people cannot dedicate that time; RL is more important than WW. I simply think they should not be in my games.

This is how I feel about the subject: other game mods will probably disagree.
