binkles, I obv have heard Thank God It's Christmas and I don't think it's nearly as bad as Somebody To Love. Maybe One Vision?

This one took some growing on me, but it did enough on first listen to cause me to listen through in full again, and I like it a lot. Interesting lyrics and a good tune to match. If I was doing a blind listen I would not have guessed this to be The Kinks.
wow nice pick

Fair enough, Indiana isnt quite as bad as TN, so I get wanting to stay.

A quick look at the power rankings does have One Vision near the bottom of the dreaded Tier 4

tchaz with My Babe by Little Walter

This song is fun and catchy as hell, and I have to admit that I hadn't heard it previously. It's everything that's appealing about the blues. Honestly I'm salty that I don't get to put this one on the podium, because I love the entry.

Just had a better in on a job to start my legal career here and would have had to start from scratch in searching there. That, and there's an effect where if I stayed I could always go home, but if I went home then my resume would always look like I couldn't stand to be away from WA if I ever wanted to venture out to another state again. I figure I only go home if I feel confident that I want to be there permanently again. Staying in Indiana for now would enable me to still move around to nearby paradises (such as Tennessee obv) before going home.

Living on my own?!
The miracle?!
These are the days of our lives?!

I completely agree with Barcelona and the other ones. But especially with Barcelona.

ChrisV with That Lonesome Road by James Taylor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxg2NXzPSiw

I was excited to see that I got a James Taylor submission since I'm certain that I could use more exposure to his work, and this delivered nicely on what I hoped for when I clicked on the link. Very nice song, inspired me to immediately loop it and play it a second time just for my pleasure even though I was confident that I'd pretty well "gotten it" on first go.

Had we had more time to get entries in this is the sort of thing I would have been looking for. Good stuff.

Just bc of the music, the lyrics are nothing special imo.

Willi with Pissing in a River by Patti Smith
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhDJZm_HyXY

I was unsure at the start of the song, but it improves a bit at the initial hook and then just keeps crescendoing and keeps getting better until I was just loving it. While the lyrics did follow something of a formula, they executed that formula better than most ever do and I found that I very much dug the lyrics as well. Really, really enjoyed this one.

Bloobird with The Last Time I Saw Richard by Joni Mitchell
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igj20M84hbo

Lyrically this was elite; absolutely without peer in this category. Just beautifully penned. Musically it was slightly less accessible to me stylistically, but the lyrics really were strong enough that I said "**** it, I can't put it below #1 anyway." And to be clear it's certainly fine musically, just outside of my normal wheelhouse. Strong entry, Bloo.

I think musically there are similarities, and I needed an excuse to share that

disclaimer: my ear isn't great

edit: just realised the movie version isn't very heavy on the piano, maybe this will help

Tomorrow I'm sure I'll be engrossed by NFL football, but Monday is some sort of bull**** state holiday, so no reason I can't get a second reveal up by the end of Monday. Probably something in the daytime.

Some sort of outside chance at a reveal tomorrow, but I'd say it's very unlikely.
