For those of you who have incredible memories, I mentioned in my last walrus that I've never played a Final Fantasy game. This remains the case, yet the game's music continues to score highly with me. I'm a fan of the barely-restrained intensity this song puts out - you can definitely tell it's a battle theme, and a fairly tense one too. The instrumentation changes up enough to keep things interesting; it could still stand to do a bit more, but overall it's still a great piece.
I've never seen a Bond movie, either. I swear I've seen things and played things, they just don't always overlap with what everyone else has seen and played. This is probably the best Bond theme I've ever heard though, suck it Skyfall. I'm historically a Chris Cornell fan, glad he plays to his strengths on this track. Can't really find anything to nitpick; just a good track.
OK, yeah. This is one of my all time favorites off the RWBY OST. The energy this song puts out is top ****ing notch - there's no other real way to describe it. Casey has a particular vocal range in which she sounds excellent, and she pretty much hangs out there during this song. The backing track doesn't try to outshine her, and in the process becomes an excellent complement. Song's great. Fight me.

I think "epic" is actually a fitting word here (for once). The soaring vocals, the multilayered strings, the driving pulse of the song... it all sets the stage for something incredible. Speaking of the vocals, that's another point in this song's favor; there's a lot of ways to do vocals poorly in video game OSTs, but this is not one of them. It reminds me a bit of the first half of the Dark Souls 3 final boss theme. This is a good thing.
Surprise! I actually really like Blondie. Shouldn't be that big a surprise - I'm a professed fan of lots of music from the late 70s-early 80s, and this falls right in the middle of that. This song is a jam - something to cruise down the highway to, windows down, not really giving a **** about where you're going. Great pick.
Ladies and gentlemen, this might be the most absurd case of pandering in walrus history. For those who don't know, Your Name is the movie from which I sourced my avatar on both Smogon AND MafiaUniverse; furthermore, I've spoken to Alette about how much I like this soundtrack. To permit this song to win would be a travesty.
...that being said, this was the lowest I could place it in good faith. The song itself is beautiful and evokes a lot of emotion; the issue is that it's impossible for me to fully separate this song from the emotional context of the film itself, and HOO BOY. This song could be pretty mediocre and I'd never know. As it stands, a 9 feels right.
I like songs with a lot going on, and oh boy there is a LOT going on here. I love how multilayered this is - every instrument is doing something different, and it all meshes together pretty damn well. I'm not ENTIRELY sure why it changes so drastically halfway through? But I really like the second half of the track as well. It's a completely different mood, but I'm still digging it. Great pick from an underappreciated franchise.

No, seriously, this is pretty fantastic. No bull****, just five minutes of guitar excellence. That this rates so high comes down entirely to personal preference; I realize the rest of it does, too, but sometimes you either like a song or you don't, and there's not a ton of analysis you can do for it. This is one of those times. More guitar, please.

But yeah it's probably pretty obvious why I like this song. Energetic, some sick ass guitar, it's just... good. It's easier to write about songs that I don't like than it is to write about songs I do like, especially on song #36 :/
I'll deviate from your ordinary writeup here, and give you an extra half point to boot, because the entire premise of the Shaggs is both hilarious and a bit depressing. But yeah, this song isn't very good. Don't think this will be a controversial placement.
Yeah, no. This is probably my least favorite Fleetwood Mac song. It's just so tremendously dull. So much empty space in the song that never gets filled. The chorus is the only point at which it feels anywhere close to being a complete song.
This is very clearly the introduction to another song. It doesn't stand very well on its own. I remember you gushing to me about how much you loved this album - why not submit a more fleshed out song from it? Sounds like the song it turns into is probably pretty good, so I'm fairly disappointed.
Yeah, vaudeville isn't really my thing. Too cheesy, and not in the way that I enjoy. Sounds like every other song from 1909. Props for having the balls to submit something like this, though.
I like uptempo jazz - something with blues or soul elements. Slow jazz isn't really my thing. Gets some life in it in the final minute or so, which bumps it above a five; otherwise, not a particularly memorable track.
This feels too overly "yep this is an acoustic guitar hit from the 70s." Generic for the era, and the fact that the backing instrumental is more interesting than the vocals is counteracted by how goddamn quiet they are. And either way, it's doesn't really grab my attention. 5.5/10 would overhear over the speaker in a small town Texas convenience store again
Low effort submission. Overrated song. An entire world of cheesy hair metal and you picked one of the worst songs. Nothing ever happens. Good in the context of Rocky and not much else. You would have been better off sending me the OG Rocky theme, if we're being honest/
As I've stated in the past, I don't like songs that are trippy just for the sake of being trippy, which I believe is a statement that sums up the entirety of early Pink Floyd. I like their later stuff better. This is OK during its best parts and pretty obnoxious during its worst parts. No thanks.
An okay song off a bad band's best album. I think 6 is an OK spot for such a song to end up. You run into a spot of trouble in the fact that my roommate's girlfriend is literally obsessed with that band, so I've heard a LOT of them over the past few years.
Or maybe that helped you. I may have Stockholm Syndrome. Who knows?
