There's a pretty decent song in here, buried underneath the terrible audio quality lol. Pretty decent jam, and she's got a great voice. Nothing special but it's pretty solid.
Fun fact: I actually have not seen this movie. As far as movie themes go, it's decent, though not a standout. Has a decent buildup that draws you in, but the slower part drifts a bit towards the generic end of the scale.
The mood this one creates is absolutely brilliant, and I feel like it would be incredible to see live. Comes across pretty well over the computer, too. I love villain songs in general, and this one is no exception.
Yeah, I can dig me some Sonata Arctica. They do power metal right (take notes, KAMELOT). The more laid-back pace of the verses contrast the more high-energy choruses well. Good pick.
More good metal. This one does a lot of interesting things instrumentally, which I did. The verse-chorus contrast works well here, too, and the vocalist is better than Sonata Arctica's.
The more songs I hear from this album, the more I realize I like this album a LOT more than Gambino's other stuff. The rock/funk/soul fusion that goes into this is something I find very appealing. The vocals are idiosyncratic, but they work IMO. Big fan of the overall vibes.
Again with the accidental pandering. This is actually my least favorite RWBY opening, but that's only because all the others are probably 9+ (volume 4 is debatable but that's another story). But anyways yeah that still puts it pretty high up in the grand scheme of things. Casey Lee is always great when she gets a song that fits her vocal range, and this song definitely falls into that classification. High energy is great, too.
Another super lazy submission, except this one happens to be a song I really, really like. a7x is a band that appeases my inner edgelord and this is one of their best songs.
There's something about her voice that's just absolutely haunting. The artistry in this song is absolutely fantastic. Excellently dark and captivating. Great pick.
Congratulations! You found my secret synthpop weakness. Silver medal for your efforts. But yeah, this is just a happy, energetic, fun song. About a gun or something. Kinda whiplash in comparison to the rest of this cat, but it's just a really good song.
Yeah, no, this pretty much epitomizes the category and was the most unsettled I was at any point during the judging. I tried really hard to give the win to shubaka but the sheer atmospheric power of this song was too great. I'm gonna get murdered by this girl in my sleep and fed to rats.
Yeah, turns out I pretty much don't like Death Grips at all. The vocals are unappealing, the backing tracks obnoxious, and the general musical texture incomprehensible. Not a fan. I know a lot of people are. Sorry to those people.
Wow, a super generic electronic song. My favorite. Nothing about this song draws my interest in any way. It uses the same beat as every other electronic song - which is to say, an obnoxious one. The vocals are generic, and the random bassy vocals underneath are pretty actively terrible.
This is really cringey and doesn't exactly sound very good, either. Something about her voice rubs me the wrong way. Penny please tell me you aren't a Yaoi fangirl lmao
