In an exciting finish to the year, arjun13 outdueled SmalltownBoy to win the December DC race. SmalltownBoy led the table for most of the month and had an 11-point lead going into the last DC of the year. However, arjun finished fourth in the December 31 DC, scoring 12 points, while StB finished out of the top ten, resulting in a one-point win for arjun. It was the first time that two players have scored more than 300 DC points in the same month since January 2017. arjun13 had the most DC wins (7) and top-ten scores (22) in December, and tied with SmalltownBoy for the most top-five scores (15). StB was second in wins (5) and had the most top-three scores (14).
Derwi finished third in the December DC race. 19 of Derwi’s 21 top-ten scores were in the top six, including six second-place scores and 5 sixth-place scores, to go along with three wins.
dogfloss and SubArcticK rounded out the top five. Both players had three wins and 12 top-five scores, but dogfloss had one extra top-ten score and a slightly higher average in her top-ten scores.
Among the rest of the top 10, velourfog edged out anton-09 by one point for sixth place, while nails – who was the only player in the top ten without a DC win in December – needed a second-place finish on December 30 to sneak into tenth place. Hg80, Kampi77, and Dynasty finished just outside the top 10.

Milestones

arjun13 moved into fifth place on the all-time DC wins list, surpassing velourfog.
On December 29, Guessinator played his 3,500th GP.
On December 27, arjun13 played his 3,000th GP.
On December 1, shamsnemesis played his 2,500th GP.

Highlights from the 2023 yearly DC race:

arjun13 won the yearly DC race by a wide margin; his 205 yearly DC points were the third-most in DC history. arjun won three monthly DC races in 2023 and finished second five times.
SmalltownBoy came in second-place, while Derwi rounded out the podium in third. Derwi was a two-time monthly race winner, while StB won once and finished second three times.
arjun13’s 49 DC wins in 2023 were fourth-most for a calendar year, while SmalltownBoy tied for seventh all-time with 44 DC wins.
arjun finished the year with just over 3,000 DC points, third on the all-time list.
Five players – arjun13, Dynasty, dogfloss, SubArcticK, and Hg80 – played all 365 DCs in 2023, while velourfog missed just one DC during the year.

Monthly Race

wafflesobv won the first monthly DC race of 2024. While waffles had only 16 top-ten scores – tied for fifth-most in January – 14 of them were in the top five, including 11 top-three scores. waffles also tied for the most wins (3) with six other players. It was waffles’ second monthly DC win in the past six months and fourth overall.
shamsnemesis and arjun13 finished in second and third place, respectively, in January. shamsnemesis posted his first top-three finish ever thanks to the second-most top-five scores, as well as tying for the most wins and the second-most top-ten scores. arjun13’s third-place finish – his 20th consecutive month in the top ten, the longest active streak – was driven by the most top-ten scores (21).
Dos and Derwi rounded out the top five. Both players had three wins and 14 top-ten scores for the month, but Dos had two extra second-place scores to lock down fourth place.
Among the rest of the top 10, Kampi77 edged out NP for sixth place by just two points, nails finished ninth despite just 12 top-ten scores (lowest among the top ten finishers), and dogfloss held onto tenth place by a single point to extend her top-ten streak to seven consecutive months – her longest-ever streak. Kokirixx, anton-09, and quaspl finished just outside the top 10, trailing dogfloss by one, two, and three points.

Milestones

arjun13 surpassed 1,500 yearly race points thanks to his third-place finish in January.
Cherrycin got her 100th DC win on January 7.
anton-09 reached 25,000 DC points in January, the fourth player to do so.
Zac, the revered founder of TripleChain, surpassed 10,000 DC points during the month.

Monthly Race

dogfloss won the February DC race by a comfortable margin. dogfloss led the table with 6 DC wins, and her 17 top-10 scores were third-most for the month. It was the 12th monthly win for dogfloss (fifth-most all-time) but her first since August 2022. In addition, it was her eighth consecutive monthly finish in the top 10, which is the second-longest active streak.
SubArcticK finished in second place in February, rebounding after ending an 11-month streak of top-10 finishes in January. SubArc led the table with 19 top-10 scores and 12 top-five scores, while his four wins were tied for second-most during the month.
Hg80, Derwi, and arjun13 rounded out the top five. Hg80 had the second-most top-10 scores (18), including three wins. Derwi and arjun had fewer top-10 scores (15 and 14, respectively), but nine of those were in the top five.
Among the rest of the top 10, SmalltownBoy trailed arjun by just one point to finish in sixth place; meanwhile, shamsnemesis tied with Dynasty for ninth place, and both had the exact same number of first-, second-, third-, and fourth-place scores, but one additional fifth-place score won shammy the tiebreaker. velourfog, wafflesobv, and Kokirixx finished just outside the top 10.

Milestones

Derwi moved into fourth place on the all-time yearly race points list, passing Paul101.
Derwi also got his 400th DC win on February 29, joining Dynasty as the only two players to reach this milestone.
NP got his 150th win on February 20, becoming the 21st player to do so.

I just scored 71925 in advanced, and still had my "reroll all" left

Am thinking a plus 70K with reroll all not used is probably a rare event.

I did, however, use all 6 of the remaining abilities:

arjun13 and SmalltownBoy battled back and forth throughout March, but arjun edged out StB in the end to win the March DC race. SmalltownBoy led going into the last day of the month, but arjun13 finished second in the March 31 DC while StB did not play, and that allowed arjun to move into first place. arjun led the table with 22 top-10 scores and 13 top-5 scores. Meanwhile, SmalltownBoy posted the most wins (5) during the month, along with 20 top-10 scores and 12 top-5 scores. It was arjun’s 31st monthly DC win – the most all-time – and his 22nd consecutive monthly finish in the top 10, the longest active streak.
Dos finished third in March as 11 of his 17 top-10 scores were in the top 5. That included four wins, second only to SmalltownBoy for the month.
Dynasty and dogfloss rounded out the top five in March. Both players had 16 top-10 scores, but Dynasty posted three wins (including his historic 500th win) and 12 top-5 scores, while dogfloss delivered 10 top-5 scores and extended her top-10 streak to nine consecutive months.
Among the rest of the top 10, Derwi (sixth place) finished in the top 10 for the sixth straight month, velourfog (eighth place) finished in the top 10 for the first time this year, and Guessinator finished third on March 31, which enabled him to pass four other players and finish in tenth place. nails, wafflesobv, and anton-09 finished just outside the top 10.

Dos played in his 1,000th DC on March 13. He is the 38th player to pass that milestone.

Stat of the Month

19: The number of top-10 scores in March by anton-09, who finished outside of the top 10. That’s the most top-10 scores by a non-top-10 finisher since Derwi did the same thing in May 2022.
