i made a decision to stop playing the DC first thing my time (i.e. when it just opened) and wait until the evening, to minimise the number of times i think i might win the DC but ultimately get beaten. I have yet to last past midday.

Currently #1 in the clubhouse. Le Sigh (not really)

I crashed out of the tourney, Paul101 neat me handsomely 4-1

Really every time when I arrived at a crossing and had to choose a path, I chose the wrong one.
  • OK, now I have to guess if a 4 or a 5 comes in the 4th rack to complete Dynasty pre conditions ==> wrong
  • OK, 5 2s in the racks 1-5. The best is usually to connect 0 ==> 3 2s in the rack 5-9
  • OK, now I must screw my bonus or block of my 6-chain, which is good if the rack 8-9 have less than 3 6s ==> wrong
Every choice was wrong. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Also Paul made some good scores, so gl to him.

so now that there's a new DC, do i get to moan about making a snake charmer yesterday, scoring all the possible 4/5/6s, and still only getting like 5th?

Very nice actually

dogfloss and velourfog also made snake charmers, but with higher bonuses than you
This was not a game to play Dynasty strat

very nice indeed

You made an incorrect choice with those 2´s imo
Tip:
If you play basic strategy and you get 5 2s in the first 4 racks, you need to connect 2 of them.
That is because you very likely have 2 squares to dump additional twos.

In Dynasty strategy, you do not have those extra spaces and you probably need to keep all five 2s unconnected, because the EV(2) in the racks 5-9 = 4.16

Got 3 rating points from my win yesterday lol.

It's also still showing 9 wins for me, does it not automatically update?

3 rating points for a win is ridic imo

Should be more like 10-20 pts. DC rating system is very boring with so few movements.

I don´t know how it is counted, but a daily challenge should be rated for any player as if it were (n-1) timed HU matches (n=number of players in the DC). If e.g 40 players are playing, it should count for 39 victories for the leader of the DC, so he should get points 39 times, depending on the DC rating difference with each player.

No 2 in the DC notes 38 victories and 1 defeat. Etc.

The "winners" page takes a while to update after the DC has ended.

well that surprises me because if I end up terrible like I did a couple of times the last week(s), I should lose like 10-20 points in a day.

With so few points, I think the rating movements should be fractional, i.e. not rounded. Losing 30 times 0.3 points = 9 points down, not 0.

Only round the rating when you post the rating list.

Dunno if that is done like that as well.

almost positive that is how it's done as well

I agree the rating system isn't perfect, but it's pretty solid.
