I have been corresponding with Zac about updating the Tournament Summary Tab.

Right now there is "Winners" tab on the main page, and the two options after that are "Daily Challenge and "Tournaments." Currently the tournaments section only has a summary of three tournaments (timed) in 2011.

I volunteered to update this, and to date here is what I have.

There are couple of reasons for me doing this. First, with the start of the majors, some players are going to have multiple trophies (doglfoss will soon have two). But, if dogfloss wins the Master's next year (for example), she wont get a second green trophy. But, the new tournament summary will be able to show who won each big tournament, so it wont really matter.

I know some people might be worried about trophy overload, but it really should not be a problem. The max anyone could have is 5 different icons, and that would likely take a few years (if ever) for that to happen.

The second reason I drafted this table is that big tourneys, such as the Battle Royales you folks had, are buried deep in the tournament pages, and there is no one-stop summary page to see the results of these and other big events.

So, the table below is a summary of the "larger" tourneys found in the 110+ pages of tournaments over the last three years or so.




I am going to double-check what I have to make sure it is all correct.

What I am hoping is that some of the long-term regs might be able to help me with info on any tournaments that occurred after the initial 3 timed ones in 2011, but before the official tournaments started running in 2013 or so.

For example, I see that Treep and Th10 have a gold trophy, so I assume they got them by winning a big tournament, but I cant see any record of the tourneys.

So, does anyone know if any tourney results are in this thread. I don't have any problem looking, but just don't want to go on a wild goose chase.

PS. Looking back at the Battle Royale's I was kind of surprised that after the epic victories by Paul and mrgibson, that they didn't each earn a trophy icon. Those victories seem pretty significant. Maybe Zac could/should be lobbied for a unique trophy icon for these???

That looks very cool. My suggestions are to remove Mini Max 1 and 2, the 2nd place finishers, and the seeding. The less cluttered the better, imo.

I started playing back in 2013 i think it was. From my understanding, at some point before tourny mode was introduced, these tournys took place via timed matches, so there would be not record of them in the tourny log. The 3 big tournys with their brackets are currently on the winners page if you scroll down a bit. They were before my time though so maybe someone else can give more info

Thanks waffles. I got those three big tournaments on the table in Yellow. Also, suggested to Zac that he leave the current info that is there and it can all appear just below the table I did.

I'll look through some of the early pages of this thread and if I can find some info on the timed ones other than the first three, I'll add it.

However, as of June 19 there are reasonable indications that wetwilly31 has been freed (or escaped), and is now playing his own DCs.

The various damn alias who were playing in his stead will be hunted down by Interpol. The ring-leader is purported to now go by the sole alias of "run-bad."

Wetwilly31 commented that it was time for "run-bad" to move on to another TC player, and wished him good riddance.

Just an FYI, for anyone not keeping tabs, the DC Race for June is shaping up as one of the best and closest ever, 11 DCs to go so make them count, every top10 finish matters.

I need to stop playing tourney games as if I was on the clock. I feel if I lost the first 2 or 3 games, I need to try and play outside the box for the remaining games in order to win. That strategy has not been working well...

Anyway, here is a screenshot of a 19-gamer against dogfloss last week. I went first in all 19 games....but stopped for the day after game 7. Played the rest the next day. The results are crazy... If I hadn't gone first every game I'm sure dogfloss would never play me again....lol

I asked Zac and he came through. Paul101 and mrgibson now have a purple trophy. Purple links with Royalty, so a good fit...

The new tournament winners page is awesome. Nice that's it's not defunct any more! I know I'm super late to all of this...

I do have a couple of suggestions though. Firstly, I agree with arjun and TH10 in that the Mini Maxes shouldn't be listed - best of 1s are a joke imo.

Secondly, when we played the Battle Royales, we actually agreed to measure the winner via four metrics - most outright wins, highest aggregate score, most LenC points and most H2H victories. Obviously Zac only listed one winner, but technically there are four winners for each tourney (though obviously with repeats). Also, something went wrong with the algorithm for BRII, but MrG still won that metric.

Finally, the new trophy is great, thanks. Could I request that the colour be changed to the same purple as for Daily Master? It's much nicer... and more regal ;-)

They have been deleted. They were never there for competitive compatibility with the other tourneys. It was more of nostalgic inclusion to look back and see that at some point there were a couple of 32/1 tourneys. I knew everyone was smart enough to discern that a win in these was not nearly = to a win in anything else on the list, but you are the third to ask for their boot so they are gone.

I just checked the posts for BR1 and you won all 4 metrics, so no problem there with your trophy. mrgibson is noted as winner (most wins) on the TC site for BR11. I think I just found a post where it was noted you won the other metrics. So, if you want me to change anything listed for BR11 I will (your call - you are most impacted). If not, it will be left with mrgibson as winner based on wins.

As you can appreciate, when tracking through the tourney logs (not the 2+2 thread), I would have no way of knowing that anything other than total wins would be what determined the winner.

Waffles said he might run a BR111 in July. If he does I'll make sure what the parameters/weighting are for the "winner" before listing an overall winner in the tourney summary.

I actually thought I asked for the purple colour used for Daily Master, but maybe I didn't. I will ask Zac to change it.

Regarding the monthly championships, I think you either have to include them all, or include none of them. Only including the ones with more than 9 games is unfair to those who won it and aren't listed.

Looking ahead, in a couple of years the monthly championships might dominate the list and it could get hard to read. My suggestion would be to add the monthly championship winners below it in a separate list and then have a winners summary like this:

TH10 2
mrgibson 2
wetwilly 1

As for the monthly's in the table, I agree that when we get to the point where they are making up pretty much all of the list, I'll just show a winner's list, as you noted.

My guess is though, that each year going forward we'll see 4 majors, 12 monthly's, a Battle Royale and a couple of Monsters. If I continue to highlight the majors and Battle Royale's in colour, we should be good in the short term.

Idk, feel someone other than me should make this decision. Were it my choice, I'd list all 4 metrics; feel that the tourneys were big enough to warrant that. However, not so fussed either way.
