I very rarely go for a 4 point chain, simply because I think it's a worse strat, and I almost entirely play DC and timed where you want to play for highest EV. Going parallel sounds better though.

what about the dynasty style then - how do you typically go about connecting the outside chain?

top left, then top right, then the last two in the order I think is best, putting the far one first is very risky, but sometimes necessary. The close one can go in either the middle area or the left area.

Also note that the breaking point between using dynasty or using basic strat is the amount of 2s that you get in racks 1-4.

I have discussed this in a previous post. Basic strat give two very easy squares to put extra 2s, so if the first rolls appear to be light on 2s (0-2), consider strongly to go basic. If you have oodles of 2s, Dynasty will provide better results.

Two parallel lines obv. This is where basic strat shines, you can connect your major outer chain with the last rack.

it's also hard to be sure that that would definitely be possible given the distribution between rolls.

massive score though.

i need one more 40k to get my top 10 normal scores all 40K+, and it's killin g me, i keep getting 38, 39k...
