Yeah, the monster top scores are hugely dependent on luck. Daily mode attempts to even things out by giving everyone the same rolls (it's easy to cheat, although most people are pretty honest). Timed mode goes one step further in evening the playing field (and is more fast paced, which I think is a good thing).

Timed and Daily are both rated in the fairest way I could find, so the ratings in those should reward the people who are playing the best mix of strategies on all types of boards.

For sure, as long as people are happy with the format of the last one I can run another one in the near future. I'm going on vacation next week and won't have consistent internet access until July 6th, so we could start it right after that. I have some changes that will hopefully make timed mode more stable, so I also want time to put those in and let people bang away on them for a day or two before we start a tourney.

If anyone has suggestions to improve the format, let 'em fly.

I'll post an official announcement in a couple places after this weekend, but consider this the opening of tournament sign-ups. Just add your name to the list if you want in.

LOL sorry guys wasn't trying to pull a fast one. But yeah most people here found TC when this thread was started, but I actually started with TC and found POG when this thread was started.

I originally found TC through the LoL thread and that was back when I wasn't posting much, so I went with "mrgibson" which was my grad school ID. Oh and "mr" is actually my first two initials and not supposed to be Mr. lol.

w00t w00t first big score with 47000. Almost perfect game, could have a 3x chain with 4s instead of 3s.

Not bad for day 2.

i really feel i am getting worse at this game. at one point i was knocking on 60k on advanced and knocking on 50k normal now i can't get 35k normal and 45k advanced.
