POG Rules
Do not attack or insult other players in the game. A little bit can be overlooked; if it becomes excessive, or contravenes 2+2 site rules, then Moderator action may be taken. You should focus on attacking a persons ideas, actions or logic - not the poster as an individual. If you feel someone is crossing the line with namecalling, you should PM a POG Mod (TimeLady or well named) who is not currently playing in the game. Post reports should be avoided if mods are playing the game, as it may provide them additional unfair information based on who is reporting. Standard 2+2 rules violations (ie, telling someone to perish in a oily conflagration, inline nudity) can be reported with the Post Notification button.

Wagering on the game is not allowed.

2+2 Terms of Service and site rules are to be observed at all times

One account per player - you may not play in a game with multiple accounts, nor should you attempt to use a well known account to extract information from other players while you play on a gimmick account.

Due to the social nature of the game of survivor, we will be more lenient with these rules then in a standard game, however please not to make anything that happens in this game personal.

Any PMs or private communication with the Game mod is not to be posted in the thread. Any PMs sent among the Game participants that do not involve the Game mod are fair game to be posted.


Format

If you have not played a longform strategy game on POG before, please read this to get an idea of how the game works. You will start with 8 players on your tribe, and 8 players on the other tribes.

Challenges: You will compete in challenges. Some of those challenges will be for reward. Winning these will give you benefits that may help you in the long run. Every cycle there will be Immunity challenges. The tribe(s) that are victorious in the Immunity challenge gains an Tribe Immunity Idol that may be kept or passed to another tribe by PMing the mod. Whichever tribes do not possess the Immunity Idol at a predetermined time are forced to go to Tribal Council.
Tribal Council: As soon as the mod announces that Tribal Council has begun all communication both inside and outside of the thread must cease. At that time you should PM the mod with your vote of which player you would like to vote out of the game. The player with the most votes is out of the game and can no longer communicate with anyone still in the game about the game, no matter what.
The Merge: At some point in the game all players will be condensed in to one tribe. At this point it becomes an individual game. There are still immunity challenges, but it is for individual immunity, and an individual immunity necklace. This necklace protects the single player that wins and they cannot be voted out that tribal council. At any time before the moderator announces that tribal counsel has begun the player may give the immunity necklace to another player, by PMing that player and the mod, leaving themselves vulnerable and the other player protected. After every Immunity challenge there will be a tribal council. Everybody attends this TC and anybody who doesn't have an immunity necklace can be voted for. The person with the most votes is out of the game.
The Jury: At some point, the people voted out start to form the jury. The jury cannot discuss the game with anybody who is not also on the Jury. They are encouraged to continue following the game. When we are down to the final players in the game, they do not vote each other. Instead the power shifts to the Jury, and the Jury gets to vote for who will be the winner of the game.
Hidden Immunity Idols: There will be Hidden Immunity Idols throughout the game (HII). Obviously I will not tell you how or where to find them, and I can tell you it will not be easy. If you get a HII, you can use it to gain immunity during a single TC. You may give this idol to any player on your tribe by PMing me and that player. In your PM casting your vote simple add "play HII" and all votes cast against you will not count. The next highest vote getter will be voted out instead.

Throughout the game there will be unexpected plot twists that will generally be out of the players control. I will make these plot twists random as to who they advantage/disadvantage so they are as fair as possible, however realize going in that if you play this game you may be at some point put in a position that you view as a disadvantage that you had no way of controlling. This is just a part of the game.

Communication

In the real game of survivor, when there are a lot of people on the tribe at the beginning of the game it is difficult to communicate individually, although there is plenty of time to talk as a group. To replicate that, in the beginning of the game communication will be limited to this thread, and to a single skypechat that everyone will be part of. To join this chat post in the thread in bold and red YourSkypeNameHere and I or another member of your tribe will add you. If you do not have skype then I encourage you to get it, as it is a great program, but it is completely possible to play this game without Skype. For the first 3 days of the game or until everyone on the team is in Skype chat (whichever is shorter), I will post the complete Skype chat log during that day.
There still are many tasks to be done, such as collecting firewood and drawing water, so there is opportunity to discuss in private. Each game day your allotment of PMs is returned to its maximum state unless indicated otherwise. Each player starts with a maximum amount of PMs that may be able to be increased or decreased as the game progresses. PMs may be sent out to more then one person. You can join the "POG game mods" group by going to My2p2->Edit options to gain the ability to PM up to 8 people.
You cannot communicate with people not in your tribe at any time.

Participation

This game depends on everyone participating. Due to the nature of the game it is unfair to bring in a sub late into the game. Of course not everybody can maintain the same level of activity. At the minimum please be able to at least check the thread once on most days, and be able to submit every TC vote in a reasonable timeframe and compete in most challenges.

Angleshooting

Lying is not only allowed, it is expected.

Quoting or paraphrasing communications with or PMs from the mod is not allowed.

Posting during TC is not allowed.

Discussing the game outside the thread is not allowed, unless specifically included in the permitted ways.

Posting in the thread after you're voted out is not allowed at all. Not even to say "damn" or "go alliance" of anything of that nature.

If you are ever unsure about whether something is or is not allowed PM the game mod and ask.

FIRST REWARD CHALLENGE
Tribe Leaders – you’re sitting this one out for logistical reasons. Don’t worry, you’ll be in the rest of the challenges from here on out.
Welcome to the game Survivors! I wish you all good luck, and much butthurt. For this first challenge we are going to start off with something that should be pretty fun. I have 7 PMs I received as part of the application to join this edition of Survivor: PoGStars. These 7 PMs are special as they were sent from the member of your tribe. The goal of this challenge is to guess which rounds each PM/tribe member was selected. There were 4 rounds, with the last three being double picks. The tribe that gets the most rounds correct wins a clue to the hidden immunity idol. Ties will be broken by number of correct in round 1, then round 2 and so on.

I've never played a survivor game before and I am super pumped. Was thrilled when I saw the tribe list cause we clearly have the most awesome tribe.

agree! our tribe seems awesome. everybody looking to be active and lots of good puzzle people. sounds great.

any idea on how to begin forming speculation on the draft rounds? i feel like many of the descriptions were similar; it's hard to differentiate.

We also clearly have the GOAT challenge team by a wide margin. I expect us to sweep immunities.

The most experienced POGGERS likely went first. If anyone knows ibalvy well they should speak up as that may influence the order somewhat. Then less experienced ones who are familiar with survivor. So on. I either got picked in round 3 or 4 I'm guessing.
