Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the World Series of Werewolf™ ("WSoWW™") brought to you by DB305 and CPHoya.

This is Game 1.C of the inaugural WSoWW™ 2012 Season.

This game is a 13-player game.

Be aware that the WSoWW™ will consist of 12 games or sets of games. In every game the statistical performance of each player will be tracked in at least 37 categories. We have designed achievements which you may unlock as a result of your performance in the league games. We have designed a method of tracking Player Effectiveness Ratings (PER) that, though more arbitrary than the models used in other contexts where databases of accurate data are readily available, will be utilized to estimate the effectiveness of each player.

Good luck, and may your stats make you proud . . . or amuse everyone.

And finally, welcome to the the inaugural WORLD SERIES OF WEREWOLF!

General Rules and Etiquette
  • As long as the game is ongoing, you may only talk about the game inside the game thread.
  • You may only post in the game thread when it is DAY.
  • You may only post when you are alive.
  • If you are a wolf, then you may only communicate outside the game thread with the other wolves. You may not remain in wolf chat after you have died.
  • You may not edit or delete posts in the game thread for any reason at any time.
  • You may not quote, post screenshots of, or directly refer to private communications from the mod in any way.
  • You are expected to participate. Failure to post a minimum of five (5) times per game day will result in you being substituted out of the game. If you are substituted out of any WSoWW™ game, you are not eligible to participate in the next WSoWW™ slate of games.
  • You are expected to be familiar with the rules, and you are expected to abide by them even if you think they are incorrect

Unique Rules

Any post made after night at :31 on any given night will receive a warning. Two consecutive posts at :31 on any given night will result in an immediate modkill, with no leniency of any kind. Any post made at :32 will result in an immediate modkill, with no lenience of any kind. Do not night post.

The use of a gimmick account is allowed. However, you may not use a different account in any future WSoWW™ game this season.

Because the WSoWW™ is designed to be highly competitive, you are expected to play to win. Intentionally sabotaging your team, or choosing strategies with the sole purpose of trolling other players in the game, is not allowed. You will be substituted out of the game and banned from participation in any future WSoWW™ game.

The Setup

This game has 17 players.

The seer received a TRUE n0 peek.

The wolves have permanent wolf chat.

Voting

Vote by bolding the name of the player you want to vote. Do not use bold for any other purpose.

At the end of the scheduled game day, the player with the most votes is lynched, and his role revealed in the thread. If two or more players are tied for the most votes, one of the tied players is chosen randomly by the moderator.

There is NO MAJORITY LYNCH in this game.

There is NO VOTE CHANGING OR UNVOTING at must lynch.

Day and Night Times

All times give are server time, which is also Eastern Standard Time. The thread will open at 9:30 AM EST. Night will fall at 8:30 PM EST.

I will open the thread every morning by posting "IT IS DAY." You may not post in the thread until I have made the morning post.

Weekends are different: There is non "night" Saturday night -- the thread remains open from Saturday morning until Sunday evening. There is no scheduled Saturday night lynch.

larry you still around? Firsting and then not interacting with the next person to enter the thread raises little alarm bells in my mind. I don't believe we've ever played together, and I've heard you're pretty experienced, and I assume that means you're relatively decent at least. Anything general you care to tell me about your game?

I'm also excited to play with Perdition again; his "less is more" wolf game the last time I played with him was pretty impressive (and infuriating) to watch after I was NK'd . . . I think I can read him a bit better than rand, although admittedly my sample size is pretty small.

Sup thread?

As I promised Hoya a while back all of my reads in this game will be solidly evidence backed reads and come with a full explanation - I will not even say the "t word"

I'm also looking forward to seeing what kind of stats that the mods have come up with

Why'd you promise him that you wouldn't tone read? I find it to be quite useful with a decent subset of the WW population.

Ehh. Tone reads can be important for d1 and for players you are familiar with. I feel unknowns require more interactions and game mechanicy things to be read properly in most cases.

Nice xpost Monte. I know I've played one or two games with you. I wanna say the smokers game and anniversary?

I am not going to discuss this any further than I already have except to say that the "evidence" I will consider includes presumed state of mind when making posts, comparisons to previous games individuals have played as different roles, and general things that in my opinion tend to make people more likely to be either villagers or wolves

In short I am going to be using an extremely expansive definition of the word "evidence" in this game

I didn't play anniversary, but I'm pretty sure our paths have crossed before. I haven't played a game for quite a while though, due to forum outages and irl stuff, but as I recall you were relatively new when we played? I'm not positive, but smokers sounds right to me.

Can you refresh my memory on your overall 2p2 WW experience level? My recollection is that you're relatively new, but I certainly could be mistaken.

So you in actuality are tone reading, just calling it something different? I guess if you're going to lawyer anyone, CPHoya is the one to do it to

To be fair Hoya was the one who initially said that all of those things were actually evidence based reads - I'm just adopting his terminology

While I know nothing about Montecore and am pretty sure that I've never played with him before I believe that this post was made with a villagery mindset thus Montecore earns my first official village lean

That game we played was like my 4th game. Ive played prob 12 normal games and 20 turbos by now. I've been very active and feel both my villa and wolf games are pretty solid.
