Re: Starcraft 2
So mech is amazingly fun and good against low and medium level Zs. Since it's something they're not used to seeing, you get all kinds of major oopsies that result in them losing every single drone or trying to kill some hellions with lings and losing 40 for free. Muta clumps are of course delightful as well.

I just realized that every terran mech unit does splash damage. ****ing OP
I mean factory mech ofc, viking/banshee doesn't feel as "mech"

Re: Starcraft 2
i used to not want to play mech because the marine is so op. but then i realized that all the mech units are op too, so it's an even trade!

Re: Starcraft 2
Day9 did a show on mech in TvP but I am not convinced at all. I felt like it was a situation where the opponents did not deal well with them or were already losing anyway or just played worse that game. In general if I lose to "mech" it's awful response to banshees and not getting expos up well before terran gets a good ball up. The thing is toss can continuously throw units at terran with good econ set up, and do it well with good feedbacks, warp prism speed, etc. Terran mech isn't all that maneuverable and even in a straight up battle I feel that storms and feedback are just so strong.
idk about zerg though I guess it's a lot more viable/good.

Re: Starcraft 2
Mech is only good PvT when you have a banshee force. You have to force all the protoss units that suck balls against terran - stalkers, phoenix, void rays, cannons.

Re: Starcraft 2
I do ok against mech as long as I see it coming pretty early.
drone hard and take a quick 3rd because the push is later
make roaches, mutas and lings
don't make too many mutas because you'll need infestors too
what's hard for me is that if terran opens with a reactor hellion expansion, he can follow up with mech or bio and if you get it wrong as zerg, you can **** yourself

Re: Starcraft 2
Templar solves everything. I think Banshee/Viking are vital in TvP if you want to go "mech" just because either collossi or warp prism templar will ruin you.

Re: Starcraft 2
Not always but it's a common upgrade and can mess up protoss really hard. It also lets you cut corners and focus on econ while forcing protoss to defend a bit, much like drops.

Re: Starcraft 2
Damn, PartinG looked really good in that last series vs Jjakji. Who you guys rooting for tonight?
My heart says MKP/DRG but I kind of want to see NesTea advance too.

Re: Starcraft 2
tbh i dont even play anymore :/
its frustrating when i watch my replays and basically know what i should be doing but my mechanics are too crappy to execute it correctly.
rts games have never been my strong suit.. i remember when warcraft3 came out i went 1-25 on the ladder.
from that point onward my wc3 was used solely for dota.
but i still enjoy watching sc2 a lot.

Re: Starcraft 2
There's been a few really good protosses lately. I especially thought Oz has been great, although that could be because I use his 3gate build almost exclusively.
