Platypus (duck-billed) and water (duck is water fowl) feel about right. Head (duck your head for cover) third is the only other that really grabs me in the five minutes I’ve been awake.

Chance of dinosaur, maybe. Just because it is an animal, and dinos are also close relatives to birds. There may be one or two other remote possibilities.

I still think I like head better.

The dino/bird connection is an interesting one. I just don’t see D1iab missing the duck/head connection when coming up with the clue. Hope I’m right.
