This might be the heyday of sheep and variants on this forum. I can't remember a time with such a consistent running of games.

I have plans to bring back the WSOS (World Series of Sheep) this year, potentially starting in a month or two.

Structure would be as follows:
  • 10 weekly events of various sheep formats (excluding peehs)
  • 10 points for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 3 for 4th, 2 for 5th, 1 for rest of top 10
  • After the 10 events, each player's total score will be what they start on for the Final Table (open to all)
  • Top two from Final Table have Heads-Up Grand Final (where they choose their teams to supplement their own score)
  • Winner of Grand Final gets undertitle*

*pending approval by mods

Other WSOS series had rotating mods but I'm happy to run it throughout

Any feedback/thoughts/opinions welcome

Ooh, I had a kind of similar idea, although without the final table stuff. I was gonna call it "sheepathlon". Also I was probably gonna include a few peehs based events as well. I just never really had time to organize it and stuff.

Anyway I'd be willing to run one or two events for it. Would someone modding an event still be able to participate in the final table? Seems like it's put them at a disadvantage

Screw the undertitle, just make the winner POG sheep mod & they can set their own undertitle.

Usually the person who runs the game gets the equivalent of like a 3rd place iirc, but spurs offered to run the while series anyway.

Sheepathlon would be interesting...10 different variants to show who has the best all around game. Would play, or run one after 200 SHEEP is done revealing if you choose not to.

I like the WSOS and Sheepathlon ideas. The Sheepathlon can be a series of 10 different variants, including peehs. The WSOS can be a narrower range of games, possibly with varying lengths, over a longer time period. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to running an event, but am willing to enter them all.

I'm down for another series, but I'm not a big fan of how you determine the winner. With this format, it would be possible for somebody to not play any of the previous games and then play the "final table" and get a shot at being heads up. Also, I have nothing against team events, but using that as the game to decide the champion is pretty lame imo.

WSOS should be about overall performance, much like how they decide the WSOP player of the year. I think if you want to have a final table, you should just have the top 10 players qualify and then make the champion whoever finishes on top. Or you could just make that game worth more points or something.

You can do what you want obviously, just my 2c.

I am currently running a series of 20 Sheeps where the highest cumulative score wins & all the questions happen to be in one thread & the answers are all due by Tuesday...

Thanks for the input D1iab.

I think I'll scrap the team event for this. Also, the points accumulated are meant to be important for the final so maybe I should award more points per individual game (or as you suggested, just have the Main Event worth more points)

Haha, I've been afk for a little while but I'll try to get cracking on that today.
