This is filthy. What is wrong with you? This is the type of song that would be playing while someone was doing unspeakable things.

Ya ya! Woohoo! Mediocre score for you-oo! (Your other song would've scored better but also would've gotten a deduction for familiarity.)

Bloobird submits Hey Little Songbird by Anais Mitchell

Score: 8.7

Those bass vocals definitely made the song - totally outshined the female vocals. Loved the slight creepy vibe this song had. Great instrumentation too.

Another top 10 result is nothing to be ashamed of

If you'd not already been familiar with in then it would be the #2 song I think (unless the deduction is yet to be done)

Category #6 - Keep It Classy or Strange Stuff

Submit a song that you'd imagine would be played in a bar or club with only the suavest ladies and gentlemen.

Or...

Submit a song that you'd imagine would be a played at the freak show. Whatever that is.

In 19th,

KarmaDope submits Gloryhole by Steel Panther

Score: 6.3

Quote:
So, I actually dislike crude humor very very much but this could've been much worse. The song was mostly tolerable. Also, I thought the bridge was pretty good.

In 18th,

Jmurder3 submits Monday Afternoon by Marika Hackman

Score: 6.5

Quote:
This song is somewhat boring for like the first 2 minutes. Then I think it gets pretty decent for the remainder of the song. But still.. those first 2 minutes - not too fun.

In 17th,

CrimsonFox submits Zomby Woof by Frank Zappa

Score: 6.7

Quote:
This song features some nice guitar work as I'd expect from a guitar legend. However, this song was kind of all over the place. And I usually don't mind that sort of stuff, but it was a little hard for me to get into in this case.

In 16th,

4maskwolf submits Getting Away With Murder by Papa Roach

Score: 6.8 (7.8, 1-point deduction)

Quote:
Very nostalgic. This was the kind of music I listened to during my teen years and I especially loved this song. Hearing it again now I like it less, but such is life.

In 15th,

TheYoungBasedGod submits Harpoon Fever (Queequeg's Playhouse) by Man Man

Score: 7.2

Quote:
Kind of a fun song. Mostly like the vocal work. Decent outro. Definitely could've been improved in several parts.

In 14th

Owner Of A Lonely Heart submits Waste of Time by MØ

Score: 7.3

Quote:
Some great vocals in this song. I feel like it loses my attention too often for me to score it any higher though.

In 13th,

Bloobird submits At The River by Groove Armada

Score: 7.4

Quote:
Great to listen to if you want to purely relax but that's about it. Kind of has little impact if you're in another kind of mood.

In 12th,

NeedMoreManasi submits Tilted by Christine and the Queens

Score: 7.5

Quote:
This is nice to listen to.. just needs a little more. It definitely had potential to be a lot better. Her voice is great.

In 11th,

Walrein submits Caravan Palace by Dramaphone

Score: 7.6

Quote:
Great instrumentation and fun. Another song I felt like could've been a lot better with something 'more'. Whatever that could be.

In 9th,

Adam submits Smithereens by El-P

Score: 7.7

Quote:
Sorta mixed feelings. I like everything but 'cryyyyying'. This song would've been so much better for me without it being said like it was and so often. Great beat though.

In 9th,

Gadarene's GF submits Crush by Yuna

Score: 7.7

Quote:
Pleasant. Yeah, that's it.

In 8th,

Dave submits Baddest Ruffest by Backyard Dog

Score: 7.9

Quote:
I'm actually pretty embarrassed I like this because at the same time I find it very annoying. lul.

In 6th,

gbsfranca submits Insanity by Oingo Boingo

Score: 8.1

Quote:
I'm a sucker for dark-sounding horns and songs that come across as epics. Great percussion too.

In 6th,

Xicor submits Be Somebody by Thousand Foot Krutch

Score: 8.1

Quote:
So the particular sound this song has isn't very original. A bunch of sentimental alternative rock songs sound like this.. I just think it was done pretty well regardless.

In 5th,

Zack submits Step by Vampire Weekend

Score: 8.1 (9.1, 1-point deduction)

Quote:
Everything about this song is great. The mood, the pace, the vocal effects, the instrumentation especially. I don't remember liking this song this much before so this was a pleasant re-experience.

In 4th,

Gadarene submits Squeeze Me Macaroni by Mr. Bungle

Score: 8.3

Quote:
So this song is all over the place but it does work for me. I remember listening to this song long ago but didn't really care for it that time. Enjoying it a lot more now. Very goofy.

Score: 4.3

Quote:
First, I'd like to commend you on the fact that you submitted a song that could fit with either half of the category - impressive. And this song made me laugh super hard through the first couple of listens. Unfortunately, once the whole novelty factor wears off it's kinda not great.

Nego submits For The Kids feat. Susanne Sundfør by M83

Weatherguy submits Teenagers From Mars by The Network

Score: 3.8

Quote:
I actually thought the first half of verses were great. And then guitars seem to go an octave up and the vocals go higher for the second half and I just start to totally hate the sound of the song. Chorus didn't really improve anything for me.

In 1st,

soah submits From The Cradle To Enslave by Cradle Of Filth

Score: 8.8

Quote:
Not everyone's cup of tea, but I had a blast listening to this. The vocals are definitely more 'freaky' than your typical extreme metal vocals. Way more pitchy and shrieky but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved that the song had a spooky vibe going throughout it rather than just having the band play hard and fast. And the breakdown around 2:30 was fantastic.
