Bleh. I have four submissions left to score. And I'll just spoil you right now and say that the reason this is taking so long is because I decided to listen to the entire albums you guys submitted. 1) Because I couldn't help myself and 2) Because I thought it'd be fun to let you guys know where you messed up when choosing songs.
Plan on doing some reveals later today. Somewhere between 5 to 8 reveals. Think it's better for me to do this than just keep delaying it which makes finishing the whole task more daunting.
I asked you guys to submit four songs from an album but I just ended up listening to the whole album. I then picked out my four favourites, so we'll see how well your submissions matched up! Also, I thoroughly enjoy listening to albums more than just a solo song. I think because these songs were complemented by other songs, it allowed me to better understand/enjoy them. So I likely scored stuff higher than I normally would have.
I think some of beats are okay - particularly the one from Letter From God To Man which I enjoyed quite a bit. My main issue with these songs are the speaking/rapping. It just comes off as obnoxious to me and I often find the lyrics really pretentious. Beat That My Heart Skipped features off-putting parts where the guy seems to be rapping faster than he's capable of and ends up tripping over his own words. The other two songs failed to impress.
Score: 19.9

Spoiler:
Letter From God To Man [7.6] Magician's Assistant [7.4] Back From Hell [6.3] Development [5.9]
Yeah... Overall I did not like this album very much.
Some okay stuff, some less so. On Sarajevo and Cannonball, it's not that I think the songs are bad... they just mostly fail to keep my interest very long. Right Now and Let It Die are both feelgood songs with cute choruses; however, I think Let It Die's instrumentation sounds kinda shallow and holds it back from scoring higher.

Ink Don't Bleed [7.8] Right Now [7.7] The One [7.7] Bet Against Me [7.7]
Huh, I didn't know Chris Jericho had a band. I had low expectations but listening to this wasn't too bad. Plenty of good moments here and there. Lights Go Out would have scored higher with a better chorus. And the really awesome bass playing in Witchery seems wasted by having it at the very end of a song that wasn't keeping my interest very well before that.
Score: 27.1

Spoiler:
Tonight [8.0] Unstoppable [7.8] Do You Wanna Start A War [7.4] Brides Of Fire [7.3]
A big whiff on Tonight. Thought that song was pretty good and has that 'radio hit' sound.
So there's a recurring theme here among the submitted songs... And that is that the weakest part of all four songs is the chorus, imo. A Demon's Fate has the most forgivable chorus. But it's most disappointing in Iron because I feel that song had more potential but the chorus holds it back so much. There's plenty of stuff outside the choruses that I like - particularly the verses for the songs sans Shot In The Dark.

In The Middle Of The Night [7.8] Murder [7.6] A Demon's Fate [7.4] Iron [7.1]
I hadn't actually heard Lean On before this although I was aware that it was a huge hit and I can see why - great song and MØ sounds great as usual (so this walrus has taught me). I think I only like All My Love because Ariana's singing helped carry the song - definitely didn't have as good instrumentation as Lean On. Night Rider's hook is just... not good and that hurt it.

Lean On [8.2] Roll The Bass [7.9] Blaze Up The Fire [7.6] All My Love [7.5]
These songs sound like standard blink-182. Pop-punk songs where some are catchy like Anthem Part Two and some are a bit more miss like the following two songs. Stay Together For The Kids scores higher for actually making me feel unlike the other songs and the chorus is kickass; piano at the end is a nice touch too.

Stay Together For The Kids [8.0] Reckless Abandon [7.5] Anthem Part Two [7.4] Give Me One Good Reason [7.4]
Wow, trying to pick out the top 4 from this album was a challenge because everything just blends way too much. In other words, most of the songs sound the same lul.
I have one more reveal written out but I'm not sure if this next placement is right.. so we'll stop here for today. I believe I should have another ~6 reveals ready for tomorrow. Probably around evening server time.
Oh! is one of those songs that makes you cringe but also manages to get you swaying a bit. The other songs have less cringe and more swaying so it's a plus. Honeytrap had potential... just needed something more. You Came Out earns best song here for being fun and quirky - they did a really good job on the instrumentation here.

You Came Out [8.0] How To Make Friends [7.9] Piano [7.8] Love, What You Doing? [7.5]
I guess Dance On A Volcano is okay but my mind never fails to wander off when listening to it so that hurts it a bit. Mad Mad Moon is a relaxing trip - really enjoyed the piano here. Squonk gets the "had lots of potential but is missing something" critique.
