Because our stupid government passed a bill that effectively bans all offshore gambling sites that don't have an Australian license, and you can't get an online poker license in Australia yet. Online poker wasn't actually the target of the bill, but most of the politards are too stupid to see the difference between poker and pokies.

We have been fighting this for a long time and have been trying to get an amendment to the bill that exempts online poker. We were making steady progress, and even got an inquiry into the matter that went really well. Results from that hearing were to be submitted sometime in September, and we thought that they wouldn't pass the bill until those results were heard, but then a couple of politards were just like, "nah, **** it, we're passing this thing today, **** you all."

It's not over yet, and we are hoping to get poker regulated sometime in the near future, but in the meantime, all reputable sites will be leaving the market from September 11. Stars response has been to shower Australian players with a bunch of play chips, as if that will somehow soften the blow lol.

Yeah, we've been doing WSOSs since like 2010 or so. There was also a more recent one than the 2012 one.
