It's less bad than the last season, and that ridiculous stuff about Amsterdam. The dock stuff was slower than season one, but they should've persevered with it - it was just getting some momentum when the season ended and they moved on to whatever season three is about.

But the point is 1) intent and effect aren't the same thing, and 2) as the guy perhaps you can separate the harmless from the creepy and dangerous (I'm just being friendly) but as the recipient, it's hard to tell them apart and they add up anyway. Someone said something on the radio the other day that has application here - if women respond then they're seen to be leading the guy on, and if they don't then they're being unfriendly and frigid - they are criticised whatever they do. A large number of women saying I don't like this please don't do it really should be enough - just saying oh lighten up it's nbd, is #notagoodlook - pretty much where we were in the 70s with arse slapping, groping, and casual sexual assault in the workplace.

I think a lot of people are way too sensitive and uptight about a lot of **** but women are dead right about this type of behavior being rude and abusive bullying.
I have nothing but sympathy.

The second season of the wire is goddamn brilliant.

The show is not about the cops, the drug dealers, etc. It's about the city, the tragic crumbling of socio-economic infrastructure. The utter failure of institutions.

Season 2 isn't even about stevedores, it's about the regression of conditions for labor over the past couple of generations. The steady erosion of labor unions. And the only thing politicians listen to is piles and piles of cash, and even then, they only listen when it's politically expedient in relation to all the other huge piles of cash.

And an artistic triumph as well. Frank Sobatka is Agamemnon, who sacrificed his daughter to the gods for a wind to blow his ships to Troy and was doomed. Brilliantly conceived, written, and acted in its entirety.

I really do not understand how some people in this thread can sleep for 12 or more hours a night. I went to bed early last night and instead of getting extra sleep I woke up at four effing 30.

Old people problems.

I was sick for a week and slept basically all day, but now for the past week I've been sleeping from noon til 5PM and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. I think I'm just going to try and stay up as late as possible today and shoot for 6PM.

I slept 11 hours last night because I got less than 2 the night before, traveled all over the country, and exerted myself vigorously in several instances.

Annie sleeps all the time because he is on industrial strength psychiatric medications. I've been on Amitriptyline and it's easy to sleep 12 hours a day on that alone.

Filthy I don't really have an explanation for besides depression and hopelessness.

i haven't slept for more than 10 hours in a row in about 100 years. i just stay in bed. i don't sleep.

i got sick by the way. i think it might have happened because i did that hard hike on tuesday and i'm out of shape. i weakened my body too much.

probably one of those damn high school girls gave it to me.


i am stongly in the anti-comment camp concerning women walking down the street. however, i've heard more than a few women tell me how out of control that kind of thing is in italy, but they don't mind it there???
