You are saying you are crushed if called, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you.

Why is it preferable to be crushed with no redraw, than to be crushed with some redraw?
Because a very common play at these stakes by villain with mid pair is

call flop call turn shove riv

It happens a LOT, and I would much less inclined to barrel on a hand like 76/flop 862 than I would be with top pair on a dry board.

It might not be as strong but if I make more money from it over time, then I would say that its a better hand for my play style.
You've yet to articulate why this is the case.

Anyways, I gotta run.. Systo I think you will definitely be improving.. just make sure you understand why something is happening. Don't do things because a video says if you don't understand the reasoning. I really believe your thought process is confused here.

There is no reason to prefer air to a pair on the flop. Even if you do the exact same thing.. cbet once and give up. With a pair you might maybe make two pair or trips or something.

I gave an example of a call I made against that exact line earlier, I just happened to have a specific read on the guy. Most of the time this isnt the case.

Thanks for the support, and I am listening to what you are saying. I just like to be thoroughly debunked before I apply something new.

Why two barrel with JT and top pair then?

How about.. bet flop.. check turn.. check/call river? If mid pairs are bluffing river a ton.. pot control a bit and get that value from them.

And if you want to fold to turn and are afraid you're being bluffed.. who cares? You are folding 76s that missed anyways. But JT might actually win that hand at showdown.

Interestingly enough, until that one hand, I was completely breakeven opening SCs from UTG. Now I am down a BI.

Irina, what do you think about opening 76s UTG but folding JTs?
