I stack there happily. As long as he doesnt leave you will get it back with your great position.

Well, with him you have a little history now, but note just how crappy his line is. Against the hand you had, he wins the same amount (though with a little less certainty) regardless of his turn and river line. If you had an OP, or something like a pair + fd, he gets next to no value out of his hand. Even on the flop, checking is just awful. You could have have anything getting a free pass in the BB, but it is really unlikely you would fold the flop but call the turn (so he should be betting out imo), but if he does go for a c/r and you oblige, why not c/r more to build the pot? On the turn, why not lead out? And again, if he is going to c/r why a mini cr? Pre flop, wtf is he limping for, that is just bad. He hit his set and can only get it in with a lot of help from you. Also on the flop, if you have a fd, he is just asking you to hit it and stack him. I just love players like this, they get so much less value than they should, and it is these guys who also tend to give you way more value than you deserve (at least that is my perception).

lol sorry, by "what do you think of his line" I just meant I was interested on what ranges people would put him on. I think his line is pretty obviously bad for the reasons you state.

Right, it is just a good example of why FPS is so horrible. I'm sure this guy thought his line was brilliant.

Poker Stars $2/$4 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo - 6 players - View hand 84808
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Pre Flop: (1.5 SB) Hero is MP with 5 A 8 3
1 fold, Hero calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB raises, Hero calls, 1 fold

Flop: (5 SB) T 9 J (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls

Turn: (4.5 BB) 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls

River: (6.5 BB) 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Final Pot: 6.5 BB
BB shows 3 4 7 A (HI: a pair of Sixes)
Hero shows 5 A 8 3 (HI: a pair of Sixes - Ace+Jack+Eight kicker)
Hero wins 6.25 BB
(Rake: $1.00)

My thoughts: ok this is a good board texture to bluff at (dont think it hits a lot of his range there, could certainly hit mine)

turn: ok i have to fire 2 barrels

river: ok I give up

Thoughts on this?

raise preflop. flop is extremely situational, but sometimes ok and rarely terrible. turn is obvious once you bet flop, and river is one of the worst cards in the deck to bluff at, so thats fine too.

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here

I generally interpreted minraises at the micros as the nuts. Most bad players there love to do it as a way of building the pot without scaring you off by putting in a big raise. After two check/minraises, I think villain is very strong. I would be looking to check behind on the river.

I might even find a fold if villain shoves the river.

If villain has been running so hot, I would imagine he has minraised before already. Did you notice what he had then?

BTN: $10.14

Hero (BB): $25.77
UTG: $14.85

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BB with T 9
4 folds, SB calls $0.15, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.50) 2 9 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.40, SB raises to $0.80, Hero calls $0.40

River: ($14-ish) 7 (I made this up. Think blank)

SB bets $4.75, Hero raises to $18 all-in, SB calls $11 all-in

So I kind of was thinking overpair (mainly) or flush draw (sometimes) so I re-minraised hoping to either induce a shove or setup a just slightly larger than pot-sized river shove

Kind of goofy but the whole hand was goofy so I dunno.
Not a big fan of your turnraise (especially since it's a minraise, wtf is that crap). I probably just call/call

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here

I don't recall him actually ever min-raising up until that point. I don't think he had ever check/raised. In the few bvb pots I'd played with him (all limped) he had led most of the time when he had like top pair.

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here

If you think overpairs make up a good chunk of his range as MDD does, get it in on the turn (cause he won't fold).
He could get away from these because donks are more scared of flushes hitting than anything else.
Given PF I don't think overpairs are likely though...at least they gotta be discounted a lot unless his limps have been raised a lot and he figures he should trap (and even then overpairs are such a small part of the range)

Yeah with no history at all I raise 100% of limps in BvB expecting lots of ch/folds on the flop and a couple of folds PF.

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here

he hadn't been raised a lot by me in these spots but he did seem like the type to play trappy with a big pair.

Honestly I'm not really sure why I didn't raise him pre-flop more often. Just kind of cruising/not fully focused I guess. I had too much caffeine before this session :P

One SCOOP event played, in the money.
One SCOOP event played, lost money in one event.
One SCOOP event played, bluffed my stack off into the nuts once.
