Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
my thoughts were that I've shown a lot of strength by 3-betting the flop and now he is donking out into two players on the river and now I have to overcall.
If the middle player folds I'm certainly calling, but I figured given the strength he is now showing plus fact that I now have to beat 2 opponents made it a fold
its not a mistake I'll be making again but I still do think that I'm rarely good there and that this happened to be one of those rare times
players at these stakes simply aren't donking out on the river in that spot against two opponents unless they've improved their hand and this happened to be one of the times that somebody was

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
the two flatcalls on the flop and turn mean your hand is absolutely always good going into the river, and if bb somehow has Q4 then he just raises the river in most cases, so the only way you can be beat is if sb has 6c4c or 84/94/Q4, most of which aren't going to get coldcalled pf by the sb except by the most extreme monkeys

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
oh I forgot some of the most important parts
sb donking the flop usually means he can't beat top pair which even further narrows the possible hands he could have which beat you
and the fact that bb called the river already is irrelevant because he's almost always putting in more action if he has you beat, especially given all the draws out there. the river was the brick of all bricks so he's calling there with anything other than his busted draws. this is far different than overcalling in a spot where the river actually affects the strength of anyone's hand.

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
if you have Q2 or something then you can factor in how tough it is to overcall because the caller has to have something pretty strong but your hand here is just a monster. your hand not only beats all bluff-catchers but also beats a variety of hands even higher in strength than that

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $4.00 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q , Q
Hero raises, MP calls, 1 fold, Button calls, 1 fold, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, MP calls, Button calls, BB calls
Flop: (16.5 SB) 2 , 2 , 4 (4 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, BB calls
Turn: (11.25 BB) 8 (3 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls
River: (15.25 BB) 2 (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, 1 fold
Total pot: $69 (17.25 BB) | Rake: $2
A hand that I don't play weak-tight in.
I can see that given some of the random bizarreness that some of these players show, that folding in that first hand really was horrible.
Really good points you made btw Soah.

Full Tilt Poker $0.10/$0.25 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 6 players - View hand 53781
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com
CO: $25.00
Hero (BTN): $25.00
SB: $5.40
BB: $27.10
UTG: $28.63
MP: $27.36
Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with A K A 6
UTG raises to $0.85, MP calls $0.85, 1 fold, Hero raises to $3.75, 2 folds, UTG calls $2.90, MP calls $2.90
Flop: ($11.60) 6 9 J (3 players)
UTG checks, MP checks, Hero ...
Do you ever c-bet this with 3 players? I'm kind of torn between thinking it's bad because I'm pretty much always getting played with and there are like no good turns to continue but on the other hand if I check I'm basically giving up.

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
WN,
That is an exceptionally wet board that hits a whole lot of hands in both villains ranges, but sadly not yours in the slightest. I am trying to think of the circumstances under which I might fire at that flop, and I just can't come up with any. Also, your stack size just blows here: either villain can push over any bet you make (except a really small one), then you hate your hand but are likely getting something in the neighborhood of 3:1 closing the action for the whole hand, which is an even lousier spot that you are in right now.

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
fnord, yeah, I ended up checking behind and folding to a 3/5 pot bet from UTG on the turn (MP folded). Too weak? OK?
Thanks for the sanity check by the way. PLO is mind-****ing me lately.

25/14/2 or something pretty close to that. I use to play a bit looser but I've been trying to tighten up

Re: Post Crazy Poker Happenings to Share wiith Poggers here
those numbers seem extremely tight for 6max, and if that 14pc isnt extremely well balanced, you lay yourself open to being exploited on a very basic level. (yes, i realise this isnt so much of a consideration at .10/.25 where people pretty much hand you money, but why wait until you move up in stakes to develop a solid overall strategy?)

huh, interesting. I think before I was playing too many hands OOP but I guess I need to compensate by playing more in position.
