raise the flop. and i think it is a fold after all that action, unless people at micro stakes regularly play like complete maniacs.

in other news, i've realized im just gonna have a nervous breakdown every other week or so from a brutal session. lost 10k last session.

i 3bet a huge whale who will get it in with bottom pair. i had KT. flop QJ9. he check folded with 10k behind.

I thought that was the point of microstakes, to be able to play like a complete maniac.

So, uh...

1/2, button straddles all in for $100. Folded to me, 3 people left to act; my stack is $140 and other players all cover.

What's my shoving range?

(Assume the other players are loose-ish but sane.)

Why do you have $140?

Other than that, Prolly KTs+, QJs, A8s+, ATo+, 55+.

Because I used to have $200 then I had less and I didn't feel like topping up.

Folded KQo, turned out well but felt goofy.

(Later shoved on his "only $20" button straddle with AQo after a caller, and he woke up with 77. Oh well.)

You should just come play at my tables and pick all up the money I spew.

It's like hungry hungry hippos but with chips.

Ha

Was one of those "he's trying to give it away but the river wouldn't let him" mornings. Made enough back elsewhere to go out an Outback Steakhouse dinner loser.

if a guy shoved 50bb without looking and you have 70bb with 3 people left, you want to be shoving wider than this. any ace, maybe K8s, maybe JTo, maybe 33... something like that

Probably shoving 40%+

of course, you need to be sure he didn't look. it's a common trick for someone to say they are shoving dark when really they looked at their cards.

Kq off seems clearly in the jam range

In this case the straddle was out before he got any cards, so I was fairly sure.

fwiw I actually made an effort at figuring out the correct shoving range by consulting a push/fold chart and then tightening it up a bit to reflect the fact that you're not getting any overlay, and I concluded that the range posted was probably pretty close to optimal if the players behind you also play optimally. In reality they will probably fold too much, though, which means you can get away with shoving slightly looser, but those hands are so marginal that it's hardly worthwhile. For example, if you shove with 33 and the three players behind you only call with KK and AA, then your EV is about $4 if I actually did the math right.

Correct answer clearly ATC.

Edit: Never mind, I thought it was a filthy hand, not DWetz. My bad.

And if that's the case and we're putting in hands that will net us $4 on average we should consider rake and tip too.

Probably 6 - 9$ depending on the casino and your tipping habits.

fwiw I was accounting for around $4 of rake, although I rounded off some numbers while doing the math so my answer was just an approximation anyway

Table last night was all sorts of fun.

Best hand of the night:

laggy terrible V opens from EP for $7
a couple of flats
terribad semi-station semi-maniac calls from the button (he will station most pairs, except when he raises those pair or complete airballs, but then calls off with the airballs just for fun)

Flop T75sss ($35)
laggy bet $20
all fold cepts for sssm

turn 4s ($75)
laggy checks
sssm bets $40
laggy calls reasonably quick

river 2x ($155)
laggy checks
sssm rips it in for $100 or so
laggy tanks for a good minute or two and finally calls of with 65o (no spade)

Spoiler:
and he's good vs 43o...

5/10/20 utg opens for 100 dark. someone makes it 300. cutoff makes it 800. im bb with QQ. i call. utg calls. other guy folds

flop(2700) T73
i check
utg bets 2000
cutoff fold
i jam 7000

cutoff tanks for 10 minutes. felt like the longest tank i've ever been though. he's talking to me, asking to see my cards. i laugh. FINALLY he calls. i flip over my QQ(like i always do when i'm called), board runs out 4, 3. he sits there for about 30 seconds and flips over T7!!!!!!

dealer is counting up our chips. he has me covered by 195 dollars. dealer is making change for him, and he doesn't understand. he thinks he won!!!! mother****er tried to slowroll me, and doesn't see he lost the mother****ing pot.

he has a reputation for slowrolling. that was so out of line. huge waste of everyone's time. i would have been so furious if i had lost. that is a HUGE pot for me. when he tanked that long of course i thought QQ was good
