not deep enough to set mine?
not shallow enough to have the right odds to go all in?

1500 effective. but not so much about stack size as it was player dependent... and when utg folded one of his cards flashed and it was a queen.

You might think that's irresponsible/degen, but the more irresponsible/degen thing is that you had most of your roll at the table.

Glad you got the fold though

I watched rounders last night. The lesson is if you make enough bad decisions in a row it will pay off in the end.

a guy at my table in LA was banned from the casino in SF for going north in the middle of a hand. the guy has sold pieces of himself in mtts, and then not paid up when he won. i've heard other stories too.

i only know these stories second hand. i'm not sure what i should tell people about him, if anything. i heard he played last night too, so maybe he's gonna try to be a regular here.

i hate to be a gossip, but **** that guy

Probably say nothing, except to someone you know more than just to say "hello". To them, tell them what you heard.

Second visit to filthys spot to see his wild games. In 6 hours of 5/10/20 nobody other than myself had multiple 3bets. One hand utg limped AA and +1 limped KK. Zero interesting hands worth sharing but still up a couple bi.

good job ibavly! im pretty shocked no one 3bet more than one time. there are usually plenty of 3bets in that game.

i was stuck 5k tonight, and ended up 1600 on the night. 1500 max buy in.

i was the only pro at my table for several hours, a miracle. but i couldn't win a hand.

btw, that AA and KK limping **** happened to me there a couple months ago. i limped AA and the other guy limped KK. we had 6k stacks. i was so fricking tilted for weeks.

Why would you ever limp AA preflop? I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've played AA "funky" in my career, and am always surprised at how many otherwise good players think its an important part of their repetoire. Whatever benefit you think you're getting from that play can probably be realized better with other hands.

One interesting hand I guess:

HJ limp 20, I r btn to 80 KJo, BB flat HJ fold

Q93 flop all hearts - I don't have a heart
BB c I b 65 he c/r 130 I call
Turn 3 c/c
River Ac he leads 105, I ???

Spoiler:

I call he shows 98

sometimes limping AA is very very very good, like if there is a player in the game who is raising ~90% of hands and will call a check/reraise for almost any amount with any two cards.

that's why the guy behind me limped KK

and that's why it's so tilting, because any other game we get it in, or just if the guy raised like he did 90% of the time, then we get it in.

my hand of the night. i raise to 40 mp with KsQs. bb calls.

flop Qd9s3s. he checks. i bet 80. he makes it 250. i put him all in for 1200 more. he calls with 7s6s. turn 7. river 6.

second best hand of the night. utg opens 40. 3 callers. i make it 300 from bb with AA. button calls. flop is AQ6r. i check. he checks. turn 9h. i bet 300. he calls. river 3h bringing backdoor flush. i bet 600. he jams 2k. i call. he has 4h2h

Or you can raise AA and get it in when he 3 bets you.

That's why you don't slowplay on boards where hands that improve to something worth stacking off with are hands that beat you.
