I just take it upon myself to try and avoid them. If I find myself playing with someone who I think is a gimmick I'll ask. The whole argument that everyone should know because it's unfair if some people know and others don't is kind of flawed. That's not much different from 2 people with prior history and one person who has never played with them before. Some people will always have more information about the field.
Forcing someone to disclose also seems weird to me because then what's the point of signing up with a gimmick at all?
