That was and amazing game and series.

Wow.

Well done Cubs. gg Indians

So happy for the Cubs, they haven't won a World Series since 1908 so so proud of them, it must have been rough all that time without winning... 108 years wow how did Chicago live with themselves... Well they still had the Blackhawks winning multiple Stanley Cups... lol Bears obv..

meanwhile in Wisconsin.....

Brewers never won a World Series and don't even have an NHL team !!!
Packers ran good for a bit though I guess *shrug*

I guess Hawaii and Alaska should be in our thoughts overall.

You're talking about one of my top three all time favorite TV shows!

I made it through an episode of Lost. I did not make it through the second episode. Same as The Walking Dead.

Lost is objectively bad but I enjoyed it anyway. Well, except maybe the last 2 seasons. That was more like grudge-watching.

Lost was pretty terrible in terms of cheating with narrative structure

It basically pretended that the characters stopped interacting with each other (or, really, even existing) as soon as a scene ends, thus allowing the writers to milk cheap suspense right before every commercial break because nobody ever shared any information with anyone else, even when they would have motive and time to do so, unless we saw it on screen

Which would lead to endless iterations of:
<Jack and Kate are leading a group of people on a ten-hour trek through the jungle>
Jack: You saw something back there, didn't you?
Kate: <looks at Jack meaningfully>
Kate: It's...complicated.
<ominous music swells>
<cut to commercial>
And then when we join them again later in the episode (or the next episode), they're at the end of their ten-hour trek and Jack still doesn't know the thing that Kate saw (which, if she told him, would invariably make him realize something important based on something that HE'S seen and didn't bother to tell her about), despite her having all the time in the world to answer his question and no reason to withhold the information.

It's like the characters are treated like Kim Cattrall in Mannequin and stop being alive as soon as the camera isn't on them. Which is, obviously, literally true, but it was used as a crutch throughout the series to generate lazy, empty cliffhangers by cutting to black before someone can actually answer a goddamn question and then picking up later on as if the question was never asked to begin with.

So ****ing stupid because it was so obvious and transparent and yet it still hit that dopamine receptor in the audience that went "ooh, cliffhanger!" and made them overlook the lack of narrative cohesion

Add the fact Lost repeated that same episode structure constantly.

WestWorld seems to have a very structured season, which Lost never had. Also the writers actually know what to do with the show.

WestWorld is a great show, but not even a top three HBO show right now, and that excites me.

I'd have to see more to consider this taking a stand, seems like a small slap on the wrist for something that went on far too long with far too many people involved.

BTW, I hope this means I don't get in trouble for making a top 25 list of woman soccer teams based on beauty
