I think the level of teaching is definitely above where it was when I was in school. It's just that competition and workload has also increased to a level that I think is unreasonable.

Met with the Principal this morning and I was ready to be apologetic for what I wrote. Considering I didn't know which one this meeting was about, I figure I would be open and quiet.

No joke, I almost laughed at the one it was about.

I still apologized for my Principal having to be brought into this situation, but we had a good laugh about it.

Weird part is that the parent and I had numerous communications about so many things and she didn't even let me know the comment was upsetting. My previous marking period comment was similar, too.

It's not that the process is particularly bureaucratic, but it's not pleasant having to confront someone and there has to be a hearing as well. Obviously innocent until proven guilty, and they have a right to explain what we've found, but the evidence tends to be pretty cut and dried and so the experience can be quite uncomfortable for all.

In other news, I just emailed a man about some sheep. Oooooer.

My coworker keeps sheep. One just had three lambs and totally rejected the spare so he had to take it home and bottle feed it until it could eat grass or whatever.

I went to Choate, me and JFK. It was a real grind, I'll tell you what.

Apparently it's a collossal effort that. My neighbour was coming home from a night shift (she's a doctor) one christmas, and encountered her neighbour, a farmer, with an orphan lamb in the back of his car. They chatted, she ended up adopting it, the next morning two completely unrelated farmers appeared at their house with 3 total orphan lambs.

Also, when one of the ewes has a stillbirth they will skin it, and wrap the skin around an orphan/rejected lamb to make the orphan smell like the other ewe's lamb to get it to to be adopted.
