I thought you had conquered such things (I have not).

There's an ingress anomaly Dec 12 in Oakland. We need you on a bike team, they are like special forces. The San Diego enl miss you.

Also my money is on you in the sprint.

It's the travel. I need a new strategy to overcome it. I miss ingress too, but. Now have hacked and captured portals in Zuhai!

If "Where is Zuhai" was 1 vs 100 question I would be randing.

I took this recently hiking up to Glacier Point in Yosemite for Ingress.

Elliot is a long distance beast, though, so if xn is faster over a sprint, the question becomes what distance is an equal race.

The far mountains are about 30 miles away. The hike (4 mile trail) has great views all around the valley. It starts with Yosemite Falls. The prev pic is Nevada Falls and Half Dome.

I did another hike called Clouds Rest that ends at a point on top of the world with sweeping views in all directions. Here is a pic from there looking back at Half Dome and Yosemite Valley from the other side and higher.

Very nice view.

When 'pup and I climbed half dome this summer I checked for portals but had no service the whole way up.

But speaking of missed opportunities: With international data I'd have been able to get portals in 15 countries this year, which ain't Elliot-like but wouldn't have been bad; as it is I think I got about half that. (It was still a good travel year.)

So hyped for Psychonauts 2.

If you've never played the original, go do that, it's so great.

RIP Scott Weiland, was a HUGE part of my music listening to growing up and still to this day.

By far my favorite STP song. Possibly seems a little rapey in the current political climate, but those were happier simpler times.

Where did Nixon disappear to in November?

I saw STP before Purple came out. They were in between The Flaming Lips and The Butthole Surfers. Yes, at this time the Butthole Surfers were way bigger than STP (Pepper was a big hit). People were winging beercans at each other and poor sweet Scott was trying to be a bro and get everyone to chill out so no one got hurt. When the Bholes hit the stage the first thing Gibby Hanes did was start whipping half full beercans into the crowd. It was a madhouse.

pretty easy just need an eye patch and a peg leg and if you're feeling fancy some type of black hat with a skull and crossbones

A peg leg is fairly advanced cosplay.

Xn: take the leg doc!
Doc: but you have a hangnail
Xn: how would you compare the tensile strength of oak vs mahogany?

Since I can remember I have always had the WANT to learn how to play guitar.

I bought an acoustic guitar from a local dealer years ago and just couldn't get into it, just picked it up again today and broke a string and now I feel I want to give up learning on acoustic and try to learn on an electric+amp. Acoustic just feels so bulky to me.

I know it is debated what is easier to learn on, acoustic or electric, from short research it seems elec is easier on the fingers and I feel for me it would be in my realm to learn starting with an electric.

I amazoned electric+amp and came up with a $100 package with mixed reviews.

Anyone out there know of any better deals or suggestions?

I've thought about taking lessons but at the same time there are SO many youtube tutorials ect. that I feel I can learn on my own with research and proper vid tutorials vs. going to a place and pay them monies for what I feel would be the same type of thing.

buy a cheap electric and amp. if you progress enough that you'll want a better setup you won't really regret starting cheap.

I wouldn't be concerned with which is easier to learn on. Guitar is ****ing hard no matter what. You have to do everything 10,000 times to get halfway decent. Everything. Every new chord, every time you learn to change from one chord to another, brutal, mind numbing repetition. The more important thing is what you want to sound like.

I cannot condone a $100 guitar and 10W amp combo (lol) but it's only $100, so you can just throw it in the trash if you don't keep practicing, which you probably won't since it will sound like **** and take forever to get anywhere and you've never been interested in the guitar you already have.

If you don't want to spend any money on decent equipment you certainly don't want to pay a guy to watch you struggle to change from G to D.

yeah I agree it's not easy, I was a GOAT saxophone player in Jr. High, way better than the rest and I knew it... why else would I get promoted to the big saxaphone? lol

I have music in my blood and just need to get up to and above par on skills to prove it.

gotta start somewhere
