anyone have any good reasons to go with a portable battery pack charger over just carrying extra charged batteries for an android phone?

Battery pack charger works on other devices and is more easily recharged itself separate from phone. Other than that, no -- batteries made for a particular model that are pre-charged are LDO going to be easier to deal with.

Ahem. A certain awesome person was born on the 13th of this month.

Also, that's Taylor Swift's birthday too.

I'm exactly the same. I really miss the page turn buttons on the side from the keyboard version.

You have to take out the battery => turn off the phone, to change a battery. Might be not a deal, dunno

Hello POG lawyer buddies, I have a querie for thou.

My wife and I signed into a contract for service with an alarm monitoring company in April 2012 for 60 months. At the time we had no intentions of leaving the home and the service had a 90 day cancellation option so we were fine trying it out. Service was good and we kept it as my wife liked the security. At the time, we asked the representative who sold the service about early cancellation fees, and he noted that we could not cancel early, but if we ever happened to move we could move the service at no cost. This was worrisome, so we asked what would happen if we were to move to an area that they did not provide service in or that we were unable to receive service for any reason, and to that he responded that yes we would be able to cancel with no obligation to finish out the contract terms.

Fast forward two years and my wife gets a job that forces a short sale of our house and a move to an apartment in the Seattle area. While the service is available in the area, the apartment complex says we absolutely can not install the equipment. With three years left on the contract we call to cancel and are told we must pay out the remaining contract in order to cancel, or transfer the service to a friend or family member of new owner. This wont be able to happen. We also will not be able to restart the service for at least two years due tk the short sale. The contract states in the fine print that all verbal declarations by the representative are declared null and void and the contract trumps any verbal declarations, and makes no concession for early termination of any kind, including moving to a non-monitored area.

What is my play here?

as a not-lawyer it sounds like you're ****ed.

you can always not pay them. all they can do is annoy you and ding your credit.

Well, the contract says they can sue and I would be responsible for court/lawyer fees.

Note: I read my contracts a lot better now

Fake your death?
12-01-2014 , 12:55 PM
I'm imagining your options are either pay them or sue them for misrepresentation.

We no longer live in a society of men but of corporations.

How much do you have to pay them?

Be smarter in the future and get some guns to protect your house and family on your own.

master, does the contract have a jurisdiction clause (telling you what state's laws control) and in what state was the contract entered into originally?

also, just based on your description, that's kind of a bad spot for you

PM me if you want to talk about what you should actually do, it probably involves talking to a local attorney or making a few phone calls to try to work out an early termination payment lower than the full termination payoff

fake your death is probably superior to actually paying a lawyer for this

1 fake your death
2 pay them in $1 bills mailed 1 per day
3 set up a boutique m&a firm, launch a massively leveraged reverse takeover bid, then dismantle the firm, asset strip it, and then pay off the bill in their own devalued stock
4 sell your body, or your organs
5 etc.
