oh i actually have some pics of a sushi dinner i had in korea last year. this was just a seafood place right outside the place we happened to be staying in seoul.

whole thing couldn't have cost more than about $40.

Korean food i really liked, on reflection:
- bibimbap, especially in the stone bowl
- grilled meat, obv
- 6 kinds of kimchee for breakfast
- some chicken stew called samgetang(?)
- flat pancakes called Chijimi in Japanese Korean restaurants, but Koreans told me they're really called something else.

here's haemultang from another restaurant

here is another most excellent meal i had, courtesy of my aunt who is a foodie.

duck meat and pork belly slices with various kimchis and wraps and secret sauce.

That last one looks delish. Although, could you increase the resolution? I can't quite make out the cell structure of the tentacles in the second picture.

There was a 'traditional' korean restaurant in Kyoto that served food that I'm not sure it was what korean people would actually eat today (ever?), but was very nice (and superb tea, too):

Kimchi isn't secret enough? Or maybe not saucy enough?

I like chicken dupbob and all the kimchee I can eat.

And the roasted corn & barley tea, that stuff is awesome.

I know it isnt meant that way, but it sorta seems like kokiri's been really hammering ivers lately.

Going out to eat to cook your own food such a scam

pwns shut up. just because you're not cultured doesn't give you the right to express your opinion. this is a guy who stacks grandmas and brags about it!

Jesus Christ, so there are 120,000 restaurants in Seoul? And those are only the ones on TripAdvisor...

always seemed like the weirdest criticism of korean food. but i gotta say tho, when you're the only korean in the group and the rest don't know which end of the chopstick to use and you suggested the place, you spend the whole time cooking and it's actually not that much fun.

i think it's a fundamental complaint about the concept of going out to eat, but what do i know
04-12-2017 , 05:58 PM
the round end
04-12-2017 , 06:00 PM
don't assume a chopsticks end
04-12-2017 , 06:00 PM
I thought it was the terminating end

Hey food people...Albuquerque will be the biggest city I've been to in a very long time. Any noteworthy food things to check out? Any things to check out otherwise? Early June.

pizza on the roof
04-12-2017 , 06:15 PM
There's a good coffee shop there. Oh, and bring your own sugar.
04-12-2017 , 06:23 PM
Both of you people are people that I now hate
04-12-2017 , 06:44 PM
Why do I love this so much

I need Annie to report to the thread and tell me if I should watch that.
