MPP (provincial parliament). I might run for MP in the Federal election, but that requires money up front (it gets returned), and the party can only pay for a certain number of candidates.

It's Quixotic I admit, but I'm a sucker for tilting at windmills.

I think it's always funny (in a really sad way) that socialists and the like don't recognize that the reason for all the crisis they blame on capitalism is in fact their own retardo influence on capitalism and the curroption of this beautifull idea towards a "socialism of the corrupt and ethically ruthless"

wat? quixotic refers solely to don quixote, cervantes didn't name the character after an existing adjective, like don handsome or something.

Re: POG Politics Thread

Capitalism is fundamentally flawed when reviewing it as the best system out for humanity/life in the really really long run. I feel it rests on two main problems. The first is that the supposed game theoretical optimum (perfectly suited to human need) does not ever take place due to the second problem. Which is that it is concerned with people. Very very shortsighted, shortlived people.
Like in democratic politics, short term opportunism ruins long term viability/utility.

What's a better way to allocate scarce resources than through the free exchange of them?

Re: POG Politics Thread

I mean: All decisions made on the planet earth are made by humans. Selfish, short sighted, short lived humans, all acting in (what they consider to be) their best interests.

Given that fact, and it is a fact, what alternative is there that's better than capitalism?

i'm guessing winston churchill would probably have put it a bit more pithily.
