You have the problem of painting with both too broad of a brush, and not allowing things to go both ways.
1. Did anything actually HAPPEN to Notch other than being called a misogynist? Were there death threats, rape threats, anything that made him fear for his safety? If there was, those are completely and without a doubt abhorent, and if there is a way to find the people who did that, they should be punished.
2. Wasn't the entire gamergate controversy built out of men getting SO ANGRY than a games journalist had done a review of a game after sleeping with creators of said games? She was bombarded with the terms that you would consider opposite of mansplaning etc, like whore, slut, ****, etc. She received death threats, rape threats, she left her home after her address was posted online to those who were rabidly against her sin of... sleeping with men and not disclosing it?
Were you outraged at the time that that happened Annie? Would you call for those who made those threats to be punished? I would like to think you would, but I don't remember seeing much from you on the issue.
For every example of someone being "Attacked" for saying something sexist on twitter (Attacked is in quote, because calling somebody out for using a misogynist term is not an attack, just like me calling out anybody here when they decide to do something bigoted is not an attack) I can find just as many examples from the other side.
This isnt a competition. We should be striving to work together, not trying to score points like PS by trying to find out the score of what number of laws was passed when.
