I think being a conspiracy theorist is a nice gig. I mean if you are some extreme religious zealot with a cult and whatnot, and then someone comes by and just blows up the tenets of all you bought into, then you are in a real sad place. That must be rock bottom.

But if you are a conspiracy theorist, it must be like an all you can eat buffet. If one of your theories gets exploded you just move on to the next one. These theories are basically disposable. And, you can just cling to hope with one small anomaly for any incident.. So, you don't really even need to try hard.. Great hobby for lazy people, imo

I do feel sad for these people though, as they must be pretty easy to profile.. never quite fit into the real world; every boss they ever had was always wrong, people don't "get" them, and on and on... Then "poof." you discover some conspiracy theories and delude yourself into the, "Hey it is not me. It is them, and it has been all the time...." Yeah, that is the ticket...

I’m not really sure I understand what people even mean anymore when they say “conspiracy theories” or “conspiracy theorist” anymore. Like that entire Russia-gate thing was a conspiracy theory (that very much turned out to be total bull**** btw) and I didn’t see anyone have a problem with amp destroying the thread with 100 posts a day about it for like 6 months.

So according to the article by which the US is using to recognize Guaido is president of Venezuela, it was only supposed to last 30 days. But the US is still recognizing him as president. What gives?

My goal for the thread is that people choose on their own to follow the rules and contribute productively. I have zero interest in debating issues on a post-by-post basis or serving as a referee on precisely which posts break rules and which ones don't. Dustin has acknowledged where he went wrong and has chosen to punish himself for it. I'm giving mets the benefit of the doubt on this one because I don't remember him doing anything like that previously, and frankly I doubt that he read much of that article beyond the headline before posting it in the first place.

I think a reasonable course of action as far as Mets goes is for us all to just acknowledge Mets is islamaphobic. Like imo over the past few days (perhaps longer) he has shown his true colors and we just need to take that into account when he gives his opinion on anything—especially Palestine/Israel

about the tv show undercover bosses... i should start off my musings about the show by saying that i've never actually seen it but it's on the tv at the casino, and watching it from a distance with the captions i think i got the gist of it.

capitalist parasites(bosses) go undercover and pretend to be workers in their business. they get to know the people they exploit. it seems like every episode it's a profound experience for the boss. they empathize with the worker and end up giving the worker they befriend 100s of thousands of dollars.

i think their must be some recognition of how unfair it is, and how these people the bosses are leeching off of are human beings, and when they get to know them they feel an overwhelming sense of obligation.
