Bigger, if you're nominating Kellyanne on the basis of being the first woman to ever successfully run a presidential campaign, I'd say thats certainly good enough reason. You might have a hard time convincing people she's a beautiful person though..

CN is right. It's obviously fine to admire a woman's butt and boobs and stuff but defining her worth based only on her looks is quite sexist.

Miss Pog is obviously a tradition, and one that poggers feel an attachment to, and I am sensitive to that fact. I would just like to humbly suggest that the competition evolve with the forum to be more of a Miss America contest, rather than strictly a Miss USA beauty pageant. Ya know.. like with a talent portion and scholarships, where the contestants are judged heavily on their substance as well as their physical appearances.

It would be a change for the better IMO and one we are all worthy of making together.

I do give voting merit to other criteria. For example talent (acting/singing) and girlfriendability (Anna is a great example of this but I still can't get behind horseface)

That said, I'm straight up not voting for an unattractive female and I believe the majority of POG feels the same.

I do not take this contest too seriously; my idea is just to nominate women I find attractive.

If you want to take a different route, that is cool as well.

The majority of pog are men. If this is going to be a "game" of men voting for who they think is the hottest woman, then sadly maybe Miss Pog is not a tradition worth keeping.

I know, for me, I have participated in these competitions in the past, but over the years I've become less comfortable with it. The truth is, I don't feel like I'm naturally included in a game that rates womens' hotness. Its also embarrassing, demeaning, and negatively impactful for not only me and other female posters but women in general to be rated on their physical appearance as their primary value indicator, which is really what this is if the ultimate metric for voting is physical beauty.

I know many women, including myself, have participated in these in the past as purely a beauty competition. But if I'm entirely honest, I think thats largely due to wanting to be included in the "fun" of the community. But its not fun. Its not fun for there to be a yearly lady hotness competition.

I was suggesting we change that to something we can be less ashamed of.

I am a woman and a pogger, and Miss Pog should represent Pog as a whole, not just how many men in Pog want to bang her.

If nobody else feels like this is worth consideration, I will humbly not participate, with my objections on record. I will also reconsider whether I should be posting here at all. :/

Good points. We should try to include everyone and keep everyone feeling like they can be involved. If everyone can't have fun no one can.

if it hurts crossnerd then it shouldn't run. and we shouldn't blame her for it either.

the blame lies squarely on sexism.

maybe i'm blind, but i always thought pog was at least a little different. i know i argued vigorously against certain women who had nothing to offer but looks.

i'd like to think our past winners were not always the hottest. i mean we weren't choosing eleanor roosevelts, but we were choosing talented, funny, smart women. at least some times.

im hoping we can have an inclusive miss pog. and that miss pog means something different than miss oot or whatever
