Eternal Sunshine is great, but it hasn't passed the test of time yet. Taxi Driver and Wonderful Life for me.

12 Angry Men (1957) - The Henry Fonda classic and possibly the best courtroom film
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - One of the most original screenplays ever
It's a Wonderful Life (1946) - The Christmas classic that has stories and characters that everyone knows
Taxi Driver (1976) - The under appreciated for its time Scorcese classic.

I may go with A Man for All Seasons for that though. That movie seems to be a forgotten Best Picture, it's realllyy good.
